A week after Matt Hardy made his highly anticipated debut for AEW, the Broken character once again appeared at Dynamite, this time to deliver his first-ever All Elite promo. His entrance was preceded by Chris Jericho delivering a promo to a drone (yes, really), but eventually, The Broken One found himself in the ring with Le Champion.

The closing segment started with Chris Jericho taking to the ring, hinting at offering Matt Hardy a chance to join the Inner Circle. Jericho was then promptly interrupted by the aggressive buzzing of Vanguard 1 as the drone descended from the rafters. What occurred next was a hilarious promo by Jericho offering Vanguard 1 an opportunity to join the Inner Circle, and then getting offended and calling names when the drone from the "Broken Universe" flew away without a response.

It looked like things couldn't get any weirder when, as the supposedly conscious drone flew off-screen, the music cued in and Hardy once again appeared on the rafters. As a dumbfounded Chris Jericho looked on, Hardy began teleporting one gallery at a time until he was exactly at ringside. Jericho asked Hardy how he did that, only for Hardy to loudly proclaim that he was "magic." At the end of the segment, when Hardy rejected Jericho's offer and instead called him "a hole of the ass," Jericho and Sammy proceeded to attack the Broken One. Though Hardy was quickly Kenny Omega and Cody, Sammy and Jericho's exit was cut off by Hardy as he commanded fiery pyro near the entrance ramp with a movement of his hands as Dynamite went off the air.

It may be unsurprising, but this segment drew the ire of hardcore wrestling fans all over the internet. Wrestling has always had teleportations and supernatural pyro, most prominently seen with The Undertaker and Kane. The supernatural aspects of the segment were actually perfect for an empty arena show. AEW not only took full advantage of the empty arena to deliver an entertaining entrance but also used it to flesh out Hardy's character for the viewers. When Jericho commented that there was no one in the arena for Hardy to pander to, Hardy replied that there were souls present in the arena watching, including Abraham Lincoln. The entire segment not just showed off the stranger sides of Hardy's character, but also gave fans an absurdly hilarious and entertaining closing scene.

Jericho once again proved his mastery on the mic, cutting a memorable promo to an inanimate object. He also displayed great chemistry with Matt Hardy, as the two together managed to create great lines one after another. Hardy mentioning that he was personally betrayed by the real Judas, or Jericho calling Hardy's red streak on his hair "sassy" all work to build the tension between these two legends. Yes, the wacky teleportation, the supernatural pyro and the ridiculous antics involving the drone may not be "realistic." But when has modern pro wrestling ever pretended to be that?

AEW just showed that it could not only deliver a wrestling show, but also a "sports entertainment" show in a way Hardy wasn't allowed to do in WWE. This segment, walking a fine line between comedy and serious, gave the audience a taste of what Hardy's new, supposedly 3000-year-old "Damascus" persona is about. It also furthered the build-up for Blood & Guts, and most importantly, entertained a fanbase in desperate need of an escape.
