Adventure Time will be airing its final episode soon and over the past ten seasons, it's provided a lot of laughs, emotions, adventure, and jokes WAY too grown up for the show's intended audience. A lot of cartoons have a tendency to slip in more grown-up jokes here and there for the parents at home, but usually, they're fairly innocuous and easy to miss. Adventure Time likes to take this animation tradition and turn things up to 11. Rumor has it that nearly every episode of the show has had gags or even full sequences pulled at the last minute for being a little too much, so it's hardly surprising that the Cartoon Network censors couldn't catch everything.

If you were wondering what Adventure Time might look like without any censoring, series creator Pendleton Ward left Adventure Time in season five to create Bravest Warriors, a far more adult cartoon with that same Adventure Time sense of humor, but that didn't slow down Adventure Time's adult moments in the slightest. This list contains 15 of the zaniest jokes that made it into the show, moments that make you wonder if the censors just took the day off, but these moments are just the tip of the iceberg.

15 DO NOT DO TIER 15!

Tier-15-Finn-Jake-Adventure-Time

In Burning Low, Finn finds that things are heating up with the Flame Princess, but they've only gotten as far as hugging, and being as inexperienced as a 13-year-old boy in a magical candy kingdom would be, he doesn't exactly know what to do next. Thankfully, Jake has been in a long committed relationship with Lady Rainicorn, and he's 28, so he knows some stuff about relationship biz.

He explains that Finn has to let things develop naturally. Tier 1 is hugging, but soon he'll be at Tier 2: smooching. Down the road, he'll make it to Tier 5 where she'll let Finn discover all 15 feet of her long, beautiful stomach. When Finn asks, "What about Tier 15?" Jake gets serious, saying, "YOU STAY AWAY FROM THAT! DO NOT DO TIER 15!" Finn has no idea what he's talking about, and probably neither did the kids at home.

14 SACK MY NUT CASTLE?

Duke-of-Nuts-Finn-Adventure-Time

In Henchman, Finn saves an old man's life by offering to take his place as henchman to Marceline the Vampire Queen before later finding out that she's not as evil as she's pretending to be. Ironically, along the way, he runs into another familiar character whom he first mistook as evil: The Duke of Nuts.

Marceline enlists Finn to attack and raid the Duke's Nut Castle, but Finn, being the good guy that he is, runs ahead to warn the Duke of Nuts instead, shouting, "My boss is going to sack your castle!" The Duke's emissary then tells the Duke, who responds, "Why would you want to sack my nut castle?" There's nothing explicitly dirty about this, but it's the kind of thing that makes you want to shout, "PHRASING!"

13 TREE TRUNKS AND HER PIE

Adventure-Time-Tree-Trunks-Pie

Tree Trunks is a tiny elephant with the voice of an elderly woman who is mostly known for making delicious pies, but from her very first appearance, she has basically existed to be flirtatious and make one really specific joke that the censors can't do anything about.

In Crystals Have Power, she flirts with Finn throughout the entire episode before eventually saying, "I just wanted to say, you're cute and I like you. And Finn when we get home, it's apple pie time." But the worst offender is in Mystery Dungeon, when she has to work along with several other C-List characters to escape a dungeon and she tells Lemongrab, "If you want a taste of my juicy apple pie, you better be nice, you got that?"

12 JUNK ON THE TRUNK

tree-trunks-adventure-time-polly-lou-livingston

Speaking of the flirtatious Tree Trunks, she doesn't only talk about pie. After all, she is an elephant, with a trunk. The Adventure Time writers don't rely on the obvious joke here often, and the one time they did use it, they somehow turned it on its head to make it even worse.

In Crystals Have Power, Tree Trunks has gone slightly evil with superpowers, so Jake attempts to calm her down by lightly touching her trunk and saying, "Here I come, Tree Trunks! Taste my gentle rubs!" Tree Trunks gets even angrier at this and shouts, "Don't put your junk on my trunk!" Of course, the kids at home are just thinking, "Haha, that rhymes," but the longer you think about the line, the more awkward it gets.

11 ICE KINK

ice-king-tied-up

Ice King has been pretty well known for being kind of a creeper. His main schtick is kidnapping princesses, tying them up, and trying to force them to marry him. Even though his true backstory is crazy tragic and he becomes more of the friend nobody likes than an evil villain, he's obviously not really supposed to be a role model for the children watching. So one can only hope that they don't repeat anything they hear him say.

In I Remember You, Ice King shows up at Marceline's house with his drum kit to write a song with her. As he's trying to set up the amps and guitars, he gets tangled up in the cords and, rather than struggle, just lays there and says, "I kinda like being tied up in these cords. Kinda freaky." You do you, Ice King. It's better than kidnapping women.

10 MARCELINE'S BATHROOM

finn-marceline-closet

In the episode, Marceline's Closet, Finn and Jake arrive at Marceline the Vampire Queen's house before she does when they have a scheduled hang out. Curiosity gets the best of them and they go inside only to find themselves trapped in her closet when she gets home, hiding while she goes about her business through the house.

At one point, Finn decides that it's time to see if the coast is clear, so he slithers out of the closet and into the bathroom, where we see Marceline floating out of frame as she removes a sock and drops it on the floor. Finn blushes, then slithers back into the closet with Jake who asks him what happened, but Finn just shakes his head silently and says, "I'm not going back out there."

9 JAKE'S PRIVATE VIDEO

jake-video-tape

In The Pit, Jake is captured by a demon, so Finn gets a  videotape with footage of Jake's father defeating the demon on it from Jake's girlfriend, Lady Rainicorn. But as soon as they start the tape, they see that Jake has recorded his own scenes over certain parts of the video. Right before, Lady Rainicorn actually says in Korean, "I remember the video because Jake recorded over it with something for me. Just skip the first part."

The video opens up with Jake lying in front of a fireplace, and he says, "Okay, you wanted me to make you a video. I hope you like it, girl," before Finn quickly fast-forwards the tape. They find another scene later on where Jake is standing in front of a shower, then whips his towel off dramatically before everyone screams from embarrassment.

8 BOUNCE HOUSE PRINCESS

bounce-house-princess-finn-jake

In Princess Potluck, Finn and Jake join all the princesses in the kingdom at a celebration. As soon as they arrive, Finn starts to step into an inflatable bouncy castle before it makes a noise and he jumps back, realizing it's the living Bounce House Princess. He blushes and apologizes, but the princess says, "Ah ha, that's okay. Do you want to go inside? Bounce around a little?" and opens her front flaps, to which Finn blushes again and declines.

This is one of the more overt jokes that Adventure Time managed to get past the censors. It's not just that the princess asks if Finn wants to go inside and bounce around a little, but it's Finn's embarrassed reaction to her proposition. At the same time, it's still something that would easily pass by kids under 13 or so, but they were definitely pushing their luck with this one.

7 BMO'S VIDEO SLOT

bmo-butt

In the two-part episode, Holly Jolly Secrets, Finn and Jake happen upon some videotapes that Ice King buried out in the woods. Knowing how eccentric and weird Ice King is, they can't resist digging up the tapes and going back to their tree house to watch them. Unfortunately, much like our own modern day, it's nearly impossible to find a place to play a video cassette tape.

Luckily, BMO informs them that he can play videotapes and says, "It goes in my butt." Then he turns around and bends over. Finn and Jake both look really awkward at this, but Finn sticks the tape into BMO's... video slot. BMO's technically a genderless robot, so this joke isn't really as dirty as it sounds, it's pretty crazy that the Cartoon Network censors approved a script with the line, "It goes in my butt."

6 DON'T FLAUNT IT

dont-flaunt-it-finn-adventure-time

In the first season episode, Dungeon, Finn jumps into a hole and gets trapped without Jake. As he travels through the dungeon, he eventually gets to a door with a giant keyhole that blocks his way, but a moment later, he finds a giant jelly cube with a key floating inside. He reaches into the jelly cube, but almost gets sucked in.

In frustration, Finn says, "Come on! Give it to me! Don't flaunt it if you're not gonna give it up!" We know that Finn is talking to the inanimate jelly cube about the key floating inside of it, but anybody would have to admit Finn's being... pretty aggressive about getting the cube to "give it up." The key that is. Luckily, Finn drops through the floor before we see where things go from there.

5 SHOVE THIS IN YOUR MOUTH!

finn-spaghetti-princess-bubblegum

In To Cut a Woman's Hair, Finn and Jake run afoul of a witch who demands that they find her some princess hair to put on her bald head. When they refuse, she sits on Jake and tells Finn to fetch some princess hair before he gets "sucked into her bottomless bottom." If that weren't already weird enough, Finn finds Princess Bubblegum and decides to romance her into getting some of her hair.

The whole conversation becomes censor-bait from there. Finn says, "Put your butt here," for her to sit down, then grabs the spaghetti and says, "Shove this in your mouth. It's hot!" Princess Bubblegum says, "I don't know," but Finn demands, "Just put it in your mouth!" And Bubblegum quickly says, "Okay!" before eating the spaghetti.

4 I'M READY FOR YOU, BRAD

lumpy-space-princess-bubblegum

Early on in the episode The Creeps, Lumpy Space Princess is complaining that her boyfriend Brad has broken up with her. She says that he told her, "You're not even ready for me," and asks, "What does that even mean, you guys?" Throughout the night, people keep disappearing, but eventually it's revealed that it was all part of a prank, and that Lady Rainicorn was phasing people into her body to quickly make them disappear.

In the end, Lady Rainicorn comes out with all the missing people phased halfway into her body including Lumpy Space Princess who whispers, "I'm ready for you now, Brad. I'm ready." If it weren't obvious enough exactly what she's talking about with her body hanging out of someone else's, moments before, Lady Rainicorn says in Korean, "Jake and I merge bodies all the time."

3 PHOTOGRAPHY IS ART

ice-king-gunter

We've already talked about how Ice King tends to be a pretty creepy guy, what with the princess kidnapping and forced marriage and all. What we haven't mentioned is that he also has an odd attachment to his penguin minions, especially one in particular named "Gunter."

Most of the time, this comes off more as a symptom of his loneliness than anything weird, except for one line in the episode Still, when Ice King tells Finn, "I take artful black and white photographs of my penguin's body parts. Photography is art. Let's see some art." For some reason, it just sounds like he's trying a little too hard to defend photographs of "body parts" as "art." He's not wrong, but we've all heard that excuse before.

2 BAD CANDY HEARTS

we-fixed-a-truck-candy-heart

In We Fixed A Truck, one of the craziest censor-bait moments Adventure Time has ever done is a background, blink-and-you'll-miss-it gag. None of the characters have any dialogue that references it, so it's entirely possible that the Cartoon Network censors didn't even notice it.

After the conflict of the episode is resolved and the titular "truck" has been crashed. A crowd of candy people is standing around cheering, including one giant candy Valentine heart. Only instead of a more popular inscription being written on the heart like the obvious "Hug Me," the heart says, "Tug Me." Don't expect a good Valentine's Day if you hand out that candy heart to your crush. But it's pretty much a guarantee that if a kid did see the heart, they have no idea what it means.

1 EVERYTHING LADY RAINICORN SAYS

lady-rainicorn

Lady Rainicorn is a hybrid rainbow unicorn creature who only speaks Korean for some reason, and the Adventure Time writers use it to get past the censors in basically every episode in which she appears. Almost everything Lady Rainicorn says in Korean is some kind of innuendo, and usually to do with her boyfriend, Jake.

After the effects of Jake turning into a zombie are reversed, she says, "I like when you bite me, Jake." In another episode, she recalls to Jake, "Do you remember when we got completely naked and frantically floated around in the farmer's cabbage patch?" When she plays a prank on Finn by merging several people into her body, she tells Finn, "Jake and I merge our bodies all the time!" And none of these are even the worst of it!
