With WarnerMedia's new premium streaming service HBO Max launching soon, the digital platform is pulling out all the stops to get audiences hyped.
Among the slate of original programming is the Adventure Time revival special Adventure Time: Distant Lands, and HBO has unveiled a new teaser clip with BMO singing about how lonely the vastness of outer space truly is, hinting at its return.
BMO is Finn and Jake's sentient, all-purpose electronic device; a video game console, power source, music player and camera all in one complete package that has accompanied Jake and Finn across many adventures throughout the series.
Distant Lands will air as four hour-long episodes, bringing audiences back two years following the Cartoon Network series' conclusion. Each of the episodes will focus on a different main character from the series, with the first revisiting BMO, the second about Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen, the third on the Peppermint Butler and the finale featuring Finn and Jake reconnecting on a new quest.
Created by Pendleton Ward, Adventure Time: Distant Lands will air exclusively on HBO Max. A release date has yet to be announced.
