Adult Swim has provided CBR with an exclusive clip from Ballmastrz: 9009 featuring the introduction of Ed Asner as the voice of Gaz Digzy's father.
"I suppose congratulations are in order," he says as he makes his entrance. "I suppose I'm impressed with your accomplishments. At the very least, your unwavering stubbornness. But now, it's finally time to stop all this athlete nonsense and come take your rightful place within the family corporation."
Ballmastrz: 9009 centers on Gaz, a washed-up athlete in a dystopian future where society's one respite is a brutal sport called The Game. However, due to Gaz's self-destructive tendencies, she's demoted from the captain of the best team in The Game, The Boom Boom Boys, to the worst team, The Leptons.
As for Asner, he's a seven-time Emmy Award winner whose rose to fame playing Lou Grant in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Other notable roles include Carl Fredrickson in Up, Hudson in Gargoyles, Captain Thomas Davies in Roots, Roland Daggett in Batman: The Animated Series, J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: The Animated Series and much, much more.
