In the Marvel comic books, Martine Bancroft is the fiancée of Dr. Michael Morbius, who made her first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #102. She inevitably found herself having to deal with the her betrothed's transformation into a bloodthirsty vampire and, as a matter of fact, actually succumbed to vampirism herself at one point, getting her very own set of dark powers in the process.

At this time, however, Sony has declined to comment on whether or not Arjona is being considered for the role, Deadline reports.

That being said, it has already been confirmed that the character of Martine will appear in the film. And with Morbius expected to begin production in 2019, more casting news is likely to break soon, seeing as how the only confirmed cast member thus far is Jared Leto as the titular vampiric antihero.
