With the animated film adaptation of The Addams Family opening next month, a new lyric video for one of the movie's original songs, "Haunted Heart," has been released.

Performed by Grammy Award-winning artist Christina Aguilera, the lyric video shows Aguilera recording her vocals in the studio interspersed with clips of Morticia Addams preparing for a ghoulish night, overlaid with appropriately Gothic font.

Showing Morticia on the single cover, the song plays up The Addams Family's signature obsession with the macabre, using spooky allusions and metaphors in the lyrics.

The upcoming animated film reintroduces the eponymous family for a new generation. The children attend a local school -- much to the horror of their classmates and teachers -- while revealing how the horror-tinged clan came together. The new film promises the usual fixation on the macabre and gloomier aspects of life, with the family's usual glee and obliviousness to social norms.
