Comic book artist Adam Hughes' recently posted his Wonder Woman 1984 variant cover on Twitter where it subsequently received a psychedelic animation edit from a fan.The variant showcased an already-vibrant blend of purples, blues and yellows, and was made even more eye-catching by Twitter user Charlton Hero. "I gave it a little touch of life to really make it jump off the page!" wrote Hero.

Hero's animation treatment turns the cover into a moving piece of art with Diana’s hair and Lasso of Truth flowing as if underwater. The variant was inspired by the color scheme of movie posters for the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 sequel which, despite several release setbacks due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, is now scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 25.

This will be one of three covers for Wonder Woman #768, written by Mariko Tamaki. In this issue, Wonder Woman will go up against Deathstroke the Terminator as she works to solve the brutal attack on her new (and reluctant) ally, Maxwell Lord. Wonder Woman #768 will arrive in stores Dec. 8.

Directed and co-written by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film arrives in theaters Dec. 25.
