Last week, the "Action Figure Variant" for Marvel's new "Star Wars" #1 was revealed -- an image by artist John Tyler Christopher paying homage to the packaging of the original (and wildly popular) "Star Wars" action figures from Kenner. On Monday, Diamond Comic Distributors released a "Exclusive Toy Fair Edition" "Star Wars" #1 variant cover, and this one stars actual action figures of Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Stormtoopers and bounty hunters Boba Fett, IG-88 and Bossk:

Per the official "Star Wars" Twitter account, the cover features 55 different action figures from the franchise's current high-end Black Series line, rather than any digital photo manipulation. The cover is limited to 10,000 copies, with a final order cut-off for retailers of Dec. 15. Retailers can obtain a free copy through making an appoint with a Diamond sales rep at Toy Fair event in New York City (Feb. 14-Feb. 17), or the International Toy Fair in in Nürnburg, Germany (Jan. 30-Feb. 2).

A report last week stated that the new "Star Wars" #1 is slated to sell more than one million copies to retailers. The issue, from writer Jason Aaron and artist John Cassaday, is the first "Star Wars" release from Marvel since the license returned to the publisher after years at Dark Horse Comics, and is scheduled for release on Jan. 14, 2015.
