"Thunderbolts" is set to get a new creative team starting in June. According to Newsarama, Marvel Comics has tapped "The Thrilling Adventure Hour" writers/creators Ben Acker and Ben Blacker -- along with artist Carlo Barberi -- to take over the black-ops squad title from current scribe Charles Soule in June. The duo's debut issue will see the core roster taking on current team member The Punisher.

"Thunderbolts is first and foremost an action book," Acker told Newsarama. "These guys aren't gonna bicker. Every disagreement has the highest stakes."

"Also, we like all these characters!" Blacker added. "Dry tough guys. Jerks who should be working solo have to work together."

Acker and Blacker's debut issue won't be their first association with the Thunderbolts -- the duo wrote "Thunderbolts Annual" #1 for Marvel last year. They will be the third ongoing writer to take on the series since its debut in 2012, when it launched under Daniel Way and Steve Dillon. Soule took over the series starting in July 2013 with "Thunderbolts" #12.

Acker & Blacker's run begins with "Thunderbolts" #27 in June.
