Marvel.com reports that Dan Abnett will return to the world of Marvel prose novels for a new adventure featuring the Avengers. Entitled "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," the "Avengers" novel follows Abnett's "Rocket Raccoon & Groot: Steal the Galaxy!" which marked the publisher's first foray into original prose novels. "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" focuses on the team as it's scattered to all corners of the world -- Captain America battles Hydra in Berlin; Black Widow and Hawkeye head to the Savage Land; Thor in Siberia; the Hulk and Nick Fury go to Madripoor and Iron Man faces down Ultron in Washington.

"The Avengers aren't just taking on one of their classic foes, which would make a great novel in itself," Abnett told Marvel.com. "They're taking on multiple classic foes at the same time in a desperate scramble. They have to sub-divide to meet these threats, threats they'd normally have to stand together to deal with. And while they're contending with Hydra and A.I.M, they're sort of going, 'Why is all this happening at once?' Everyone seems to be making this mad grab for the Earth, and of course, that's the point. There is something at stake, something motivating all these villainous entities to act at the same time."

Although Abnett's new prose novel doesn't hit stands until 2015, readers will get a chance to see more of his writing in "Guardians 3000," set to debut in October.
