ABC Developing Grown-Up Tom Sawyer/Huck Finn Drama

Public domain characters continue to be the most popular girls at the TV dance.

Deadline reports ABC will be bring Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn to the small screen in a drama from Revenge creators Temple Hill Fields.

The new series will focus Mark Twain characters, now in their 20s, "as they form an investigative firm in a bustling, steampunk New Orleans." The series is being developed by writers and showrunners Jason Richman and David Zabel who also worked on Detroit 1-8-7 together. ABC has agreed to a script commitment to the series.

This project has nothing to do with the similarly-themed Huck film.
