A very busy ABC has ordered a supernatural drama from Alloy Entertainment, producer of Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle.
Called 666 Park Avenue, the project is based on Gabriella Pierce’s 2011 novel, an urban fantasy about a young woman who’s whisked away by her prince charming to Manhattan’s Upper East Side, where she discovers her new mother-in-law is a witch determined to steal the magical powers she didn’t even know she possessed. A sequel, Dark Glamour, was released last month.
The Hollywood Reporter‘s description of the premise differs from the book’s, involving an innocent couple moving from the Midwest to New York, where they’re hired as resident managers of an exclusive Upper East Side building. Unbeknown to them, all the residents have unwittingly made deals with the Devil.
Produced by Warner Bros. Television and Alloy Entertainment, 666 Park Avenue will be written and executive produced by David Wilcox (Fringe, Law & Order).
