Every installment of Abandoned Love we will be examining comic book stories, plots and ideas that were abandoned by a later writer while still acknowledging that the abandoned story DID still happen. This time around, based on a suggestion from reader Rasmus W., we take a look at how Beast Boy's color has changed in the New 52...

Obviously, for decades, this is what Garfield Logan looked like...

But when he debuted in the New 52, this is what he looked like...

His red skin was eventually explained as part of his connection to the "Red," which is the sort of animal cosmic force that Animal Man drew his powers from (with the plant counterpart called the "Green," which is where Swamp Thing drew HIS powers from)...

Beast Boy eventually ended up joining the Teen Titans and when the first volume of their New 52 series ended, this is how he looked...

When the latest volume opened up, this is what he looked like...

We're a few months into the new volume and there hasn't been an explanation yet, so I suspect that this might just be a case of "Well, obviously he changed colors at some point off panel." Which is fine by me! Or maybe they'll eventually explain it. That'd be fine by me, as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, Rasmus!
