Marvel Comics is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month this coming May with a variant cover series from Dike Ruan and Neeraj Menon featuring Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel and more recognizable faces from the Marvel Universe.
Marvel announced a new variant cover series from artist Ruan and colorist Menon in observance of AAPI Heritage Month. The series features Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Sunfire, Wong, Wave and Mondo. "Adorning the covers of Marvel's hottest ongoing series, these stunning pieces are bursting with energy, showcasing Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel and more iconic heroes using their extraordinary gifts in stunning circular portraits!" the publisher said. The covers will appear in upcoming issues of Shang-Chi, Moon Knight, Black Panther, X-Men Red, Amazing Spider-Man and Immortal X-Men.

Ruan is known for his work on Marvel's ongoing Shang-Chi series, which recently released its tenth issue on March 23. Following the release of Shang-Chi #12 on May 4, Marvel announced that the series will relaunch as Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings, from Gene Luen Yang and Marcus To. The synopsis for the first issue of the relaunch reads, "Shang-Chi has gained possession of the powerful Ten Rings. But so much concentrated energy has not gone unnoticed. Now, every bounty hunter, assassin and evil syndicate in the Marvel Universe is coming to take the Rings from him! But will the responsibility and the truth of the Rings be too much to bear for the hero? The debut issue will see Shang-Chi in a striking showdown with Razorfist, more trouble from the Five Weapons Society and the first appearance of a new foe —RED CANNON!"
Ruan also did cover art for the upcoming Legion of X #2, which releases on May 25, and worked on Marvel's Spider-Verse miniseries. Menon has worked on a number of Marvel properties, including Iron Fist: Heart of the Dragon, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Black Widow: Widow's Sting and more.
The AAPI Heritage Month variant cover series will release throughout May digitally and at comic book shops from Marvel Comics.
