A Year of Cool Comics - Day 357

Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the comics posted so far!

We continue the Cool Christmas Comic Countdown with the nifty first issue of Marvel Team-Up by Roy Thomas, Ross Andru and Mike Esposito!

You know what's odd? You would think that having a first issue of an ongoing comic book series be a Christmas story would be a unique thing, but if I remember correctly, didn't Sensational Spider-Man #1 ALSO have a story set at Christmas? True, Sensational Spider-Man actually kicked off with #0, and #1 wasn't STRICTLY a Holiday story, but still, two Spider-Man ongoing series beginning with stories set at Christmas? Weird!!!

In any event, this charming tale opens in a charming fashion...

Spidey heads after Sandman, but decides to enlist the help of the Human Torch...

After a battle with Sandman, they end up captured...

Isn't that an awesome ending?

How nicely done by Roy Thomas - and the art by Andru/Esposito is top rate as always!!
