Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the comics posted so far!

Today we look at the 2006 Vampirella Halloween Special #1 by Phil Hester and Stephen Segovia!

Enjoy!

In many ways, Vampirella is all about attitude, and Hester and Segovia pull off that attitude swimmingly on the first page of this Vampirella Halloween Special...

Very noir opening.

The book continues to go for a sort of modern noir approach, as Vampy goes to visit a tattoo artist...

She tells the man a scary horror tale, and that's when the story takes a turn...

Pretty cool, huh?

The tale then takes a Fleisher/Aparo Spectre-esque turn in the killer's punishment.

Well-told spooky story!
