Here is the latest in our year-long look at one cool comic (whether it be a self-contained work, an ongoing comic or a run on a long-running title that featured multiple creative teams on it over the years) a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the comics posted so far!

Today we look at Scene of the Crime by Ed Brubaker, Michael Lark and Sean Phillips.

With just the creative team alone, you should know to pick up this story. I mean, come on, Brubaker, Lark and Phillips?!?! Do you seriously need to know more?

If you do, then I'll just show you some from the first issue (penciled and inked by Lark).

Ed Brubaker wrote such a tight plot for Scene of the Crime, all you need to know about the story is shown in the first issue, in a compelling fashion. Check out the opening of the story...

The name of the series comes from Jack's uncle, who runs an art gallery called Scenes of the Crime, because he is a famous crime photographer. Jack has an office in the gallery.

Through some nice detective work, Jack finds the woman, but things are more mysterious than they initially seemed, as we see as he talks to her (and we learn some of Jack's back story)...

That's a pretty awesome cliffhanger, isn't it? Who wouldn't want to read more of a story with that cliffhanger?

I should end here, but I figure it's worth showing you some of the art where Phillips inked Lark (which he did on the other three issues of the series)...
