A Year of Cool Comic Book Moments - Day 260

Here is the latest cool comic book moment in our year-long look at one cool comic book moment a day (in no particular order whatsoever)! Here's the archive of the moments posted so far!

Today we look at the turning point in Robert Kirkman's Invincible...

By Invincible #7, we have been introduced both to Invincible, but also to Invincible's father, Omni-Man. Omni-Man is basically this universe's Superman - the best and the strongest superhero on Earth who came to this planet from another world. As the series begins, Omni-Man's son, Mark, also has superpowers due to his father being an alien. With the blessing of his father, Mark becomes a new superhero, Invincible.

He has a few interesting adventures, and the relationship between he and his father is cute. Here's a scene with the two from Invincible #3...

Anyhow, his father is a member of the Guardians of the Globe, an analogue for the Justice League of America.

In Invincible #7 (written by Kirkman and mostly drawn by series co-creator Cory Walker, who left the book after this issue), we meet the Guardians (each Guardians introductory sequence is drawn by a different artist) and then they all come together (click on the double-page spread to enlarge it)...

Talk about a turning point!

Maybe tomorrow we can see what happens when Mark realizes what his dad is up to!
