In Klarion #3, Klarion ends up in the Big City, working for the mysterious Melmoth, who has a gang of adolescents known as the Deviants that Klarion ends up working with. When a member of the Deviants turns 16, they "graduate" to Team Red. The head of the Deviants is Billy Beezer, who is about to turn 16. Billy does not like Klarion and they tussle, but finally, Billy figures, "Screw it," he'll turn 16 and join Team Red with his friend and idol, Goldenboy, who turned 16 last year and graduated to Team Red.

The following sequence, by Grant Morrison and Frazer Irving, is brilliantly spooky...
