The countdown of my picks for the 24 best Batman Christmas comic book stories of all-time begins with this delightful tale from the DCU Holiday Bash #1 from 1996.
The story is a two-pager that was written and penciled by one of the greatest Batman artists of all-time, Jim Aparo! He was finished by Kevin Nowlan on the story, who gave Aparo's pencils a fascinating look.
In any event, the story is a straightforward but sweet story of Alfred taking care of the Bat-Cave during Christmas. He gets a wonderful note from Tim Drake, but for the most part, Batman seems to be treating the night as "just another night," until Alfred sees that there was an exception made...
It's pretty straightforward, but I think it ultimately works very well even in its simplicity.
