Amazon Prime Video presented audiences with a new, gritty superhero universe with its live-action adaptation of The Boys. In it, the greatest superheroes are invited to join Vought International's elite team, The Seven, comprised of the world's most powerful superhumans.

In this universe, superhumans are almost commonplace, which is why superheroes such as A-Train need to continuously compete for their place at the top. Speaking at The Boys' Comic-Con@Home panel, actor Jessie Usher explained that there are a number of people who have the same ability as A-Train, "They might not be quite as good as he is, but that is always in the back of his mind." Usher then described the drive behind the superhero's actions in the series. He stated, "What's important to him is that he's always on top... He has to be the best. He has to be the fastest, because if he's not... Everything crumbles from there."

A-Train played a crucial role in Season 1 of The Boys. His addiction to Compound-V led to the death of Hughie's girlfriend, Robin, which in turn drove Hughie to seek revenge on the speedster and the rest of The Seven. The concluding episode saw A-Train rescued by Hughie and Starlight after a fight between them caused him to suffer a heartattack.

Though the finale left his fate unknown, trailers and clips for Season 2 have revealed A-Train and Starlight continue to fight alongside The Seven, although the nature of their new relationship remains uncertain.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as the Female, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as the Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Aya Cash as Stormfront and Simon Pegg as Hughie's dad. Season 2 premieres Sept. 4 on Amazon Prime Video.
