A Guide To CBR's Thor Set Visit

Ahead of the debut later this afternoon of the first trailer for Thor, Comic Book Resources has rolled out extensive coverage of the hotly anticipated Marvel Studios film.

CBR Executive Producer Jonah Weiland paid a visit in April to the movie's Manhattan Beach set, where Marvel President of Production Kevin Feige and Co-Producer Craig Kyle offered him a tour of Asgard and a self-destructing ice planet. "The fun and scary thing about Thor is you can go a million different directions with the look of Asgard," Feige said. "It could have been Lord of the Rings, it could have been anything, but we've chosen very specifically a Jack Kirby and Walt Simonson vibe for this movie."

CBR also spoke with director Kenneth Branagh, and five members of Thor's sprawling cast:

Loki himself, Tom Hiddleston;

Two-thirds of the Warriors Three, Ray Stevenson (Volstagg) and Joshua Dallas (Fandral);

Jaimie Alexander, who plays Thor's Asgardian love interest Sif; and

Colm Feore, who rules the frost giants as King Ymir.

Keep an eye on Comic Book Resources at 4 p.m. Pacific for the debut of the first trailer. Thor opens in 3-D on May 6, 2011.
