50 Cent Joins Odd Thomas

Rapper turned actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has joined the cast of Odd Thomas, Stephen Sommers' adaptation of the popular novels by Dean Koontz, Variety reports.

The supernatural thriller, which begins filming this week in Santa Fe, New Mexico, stars Anton Yelchin as a 20-year-old short-order cook who can see the spirits of the dead. Odd’s first adventure, in the 2003 novel Odd Thomas, involves finding the killer of a young girl and averting a disaster that threatens the small desert town.

Jackson will play Shamus Cocobolo, a blind DJ who helps the Odd uncover a Satanic plot. The cast also includes Addison Timlin, Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Nico Tortorella.

Sommers, who also wrote the screenplay, is producing along with Fusion Films' John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan.
