5-year-old cancer patient's family, friends become superheroes for his funeral

Get ready to tear up: WPLG TV reports 5-year-old superhero fan Brayden Denton passed away on May 8 in Newton County, Indiana due to a rare form of brain cancer, and in order to honor him, his family donned the costumes of his favorite characters for the funeral.

"He was a huge Spider-Man fan," Denton's mother Stacy said in the report. "He had to quit just liking Spider-Man because he had all the toys. Really, he liked every superhero."

Braden's pallbearers were relatives and friends dressed as Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Iron Man, The Hulk and Thor -- the latter portrayed by Brayden's uncle Cory, who attended Man of Steel with his nephew and watched all the Iron Man movies with him.

BoingBoing has posted clearer photos from the funeral.
