Are you ready for Leonardo DiCaprio being the king of the world right in front of your eyes? If not, you've got eighteen months to prepare, because the 3D re-release of Titanic is apparently being targeted for April 2012.
Although the Hollywood Reporter is hedging its bets slightly by mentioning a possible Valentine's Day 2012 release, April 15th 2012 will mark 100 years since the Titanic sank in the Atlantic, and that is the date assumed - somewhat tastelessly, right? It's not just me - for the movie's re-release, especially considering that distributor Paramount is also celebrating its own 100 year anniversary in the same month. Staggeringly, somewhere between $10 and $15 million is being spent on the upgrade to 3D, and insiders are saying that this will be treated more like a new movie than a re-release when it emerges... It's going to become the most successful movie of all time again, isn't it?
