Universal has given a release date to its ensemble female spy drama, 355.

The film, which stars Jessica Chastain and Fan Bingbing, has been filming overseas for approximately six weeks now and Universal has finally given the flick a release date. 355 will officially hit theaters on January 15, 2021. The spy drama will mark a reunion between Chastain and director Simon Kinberg, who recently worked together on X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Kinberg also co-wrote the script for the film alongside writer, Theresa Rebeck, who is perhaps best known for her work on NBC's Smash.

355 has been described as a spy drama that features a diverse cast of female international agents. Joining Chastain and Bingbing on the film are Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger, and Lupita Nyong'o. They are joined by Edgar Ramírez and Sebastian Stan, both of which are playing undisclosed roles in the film.

Chastain, who is producing the film along with Kelly Carmichael for Chastain’s Freckle Films banner, approached Kingberg about the potential project while working together on Dark Phoenix. The project then came together rather quickly with the cast assembling before a studio had been attached. There were a few hiccups along the way to production, of course, as actress Marion Cotillard had to exit the project back in June, resulting in the casting of Kruger. And Bingbing's tax evasion scandal also seemed to present difficulties for the project, however, that situation appears to be handled with the actress set to make her first acting debut since the scandal broke with 355.
