Although Harvest Moon was doing well in its 2D space, when the series jump to 3D, many gamers welcomed the change of pace. In addition, adding that extra dimension provided a lot of satisfaction when creating farmlands.

Once Grand Theft Auto 3 was released in full 3D open world, the series started picking up pace. From that point on, Rockstar found the ideal formula for their Grand Theft Auto series.

The Legend of Zelda as a video game series is a monument to successful video games. So many gamers have fond memories playing through this wonderful and whimsical action video game franchise.

Looking back on The Legend of Zelda and its early days, it is clear that the game series does better within the 3D World. It is not to say that the 2D Legend of Zelda games were not good games. The games are simply far more entertaining and engaging in a 3D space.

The best thing any gamer could say about the Super Mario series is it's consistent. Across the board, Nintendo has put out many successful titles repeatedly within the Super Mario franchise.

Furthermore, many gamers and game companies often pay their respects to the 2D iterations of the Super Mario series. However, it was not until Super Mario 64 that the video game market shifted to making more 3D games. Super Mario 64 is why Mario is always leading the pack to innovation in video games.
