First he played with rage-zombies, then he almost played with crows, then he almost played with immortal swordsmen — and now he's going to play with you.

Variety reports that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, director of 28 Weeks Later, is in talks with Paramount Pictures to helm its Pet Sematary remake, based on Stephen King's classic horror novel about a family torn apart by way of a supernatural burial ground. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.

Fresnadillo's last film was 2011's bone-chilling Intruders, starring Clive Owen. In recent years, the filmmaker was set to fly with remakes of both The Crow and The Highlander, but he ultimately exited both projects. Perhaps his luck will fare better with Pet Sematary.
