The search for actors to join The Strain is far from over, it seems.

FX's new vampire thriller, based on the novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, is gearing up production on its pilot, and another player is just about to get in on the fun: Leslie Hope, best known for playing Jack Bauer's ill-fated wife on the first season of 24. Perhaps she'll have better luck on The Strain as recurring character Joan Luss, one of few survivors of a viral outbreak stemming from an old and evil vampire strain.

TVLine reports Hope is on board for the pilot, and is expected to recur if (and very likely when) The Strain gets a full-season order.

Hope is just the latest recognizable face to join The Strain. The cast also includes Corey Stoll (House of Cards) as a CDC agent named Ephraim Goodweather, John Hurt (Alien) as a professor named Abraham Setrakian, and Pacific Rim actor Robert Maillet as vicious vampire The Master.
