Dramas are the series anime fans who love to get invested in their series go to. The genre has been home to some of the biggest anime names such as Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Re:Zero: Life in a Different World From Zero 2, which was delayed from the spring 2020 season.

10 Major 2nd: 2nd Season (VRV, Crunchyroll)

Kicking off the list is Major 2nd: 2nd Season streaming on VRV and Crunchyroll. The popular baseball series is back with a sequel. The series follows Daigo, a boy whose father, Gorou Shigeno, was a great baseball player. Having a father who’s amazing at baseball has put a lot of pressure on Daigo. He wants to play professionally like Goro and follows in his footsteps. However, Daigo isn’t as skilled as his father and is finding the road to success much harder. Major 2nd: 2nd Season will be adapted by studio OLM.

9 Violet Evergarden (Film)

Returning to screens is one of the best female protagonists in anime, Violet Evergarden. Violet is an Automated Memory Doll once used as a soldier of war. Now that the war is over, Violet looks to learn what the word love means. Working at the CH Postal Company, Violet transcribes human emotions into words.

While she struggled in the first season to grasp these feelings, the sequel film looks to expand on her character. Originally, the anime could be found on Netflix, but it hasn’t been confirmed at the time of writing where the movie will be available. Violet Evergarden’s film will be adapted by Kyoto Animation studio on April 24, 2020.

8 Arte (Funimation)

Streaming on Funimation, Arte follows a girl named Arte during the 16th Century Renaissance era in Florence. Because Arte is a woman from an aristocratic family, she isn’t seen as fit to be a painter, despite it being her passion. Arte leaves her family behind and sets off into the world fueled by emotion and passion. She meets Leo, a painter who got through his childhood as a beggar. Leo agrees to teach Arte what he knows as a mentor despite Arte’s background. Arte will be adapted by studio Seven Arcs.

7 No Guns Life 2 (Funimation)

Madhouse’s No Guns Life 2 will be streamed on Funimation this spring, after debuting its first season back in the fall 2019 season. The anime follows Juuzou Inui, an extended. The extended were cyborg soldiers now released to the public. Juuzou has a gun for a head and works as a detective for Extended released incidents. Juuzou meets Tetsurou Arahabaki a boy with an ability that lets him dive into the bodies of the extended. Season two looks to explore more of Tetsurou’s power.

6 Hamefura: My Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Destruction! (Crunchyroll)

Hamefura: My Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Destruction! is an isekai anime streaming on Crunchyroll. Katarina Claes is an eight-year-old girl living in the world of Fortune Lover. After suffering a head injury, Katarina remembers that she was once a 17-year-old otaku who died and that Fortune Lover was her favorite otome game. Now as the villainess of Fortune Lover, Katarina must use her knowledge of the game to avoid dying or being exiled. Hamefura: My Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Destruction! will be adapted by studio Silver Link.

5 Gleipnir (Funimation)

Gleipnir will be streaming on Funimation this spring. Shuichi Kagaya is a third-year high school boy with the power to turn into a monster. Just wanting to be normal he only uses his power when necessary. In his monster form he has increased strength and smell and an ability that lets a person dive into his body taking control.

After saving sadodere Claire Aoki from a fire, she blackmails Shuichi into revealing his monster form. Even more abnormalities start occurring causing the two to work together. Gleipnir will be adapted by studio Pine Jam.

4 Sing Yesterday For Me (Crunchyroll)

Sing Yesterday For Me brings a love triangle to Crunchyroll. Rikuo Uozumi is a college graduate who now works at a convenient store. Due to his little motivation in life he spends each day watching it pass until he meets Haru Nonaka. Haru has a pet raven and takes an interest in Rikuo following him around. Rikuo looks for closure with his ex-girlfriend Shinako Morinome, but runs into Haru while spending time with her. Haru and Shinako know each other due to Shianko being Haru’s teacher for a brief period. Sing Yesterday For Me will be adapted by studio Doga Kobo.

3 Fruits Basket 2nd Season (VRV, Funimation, Crunchyroll)

A remake of the summer 2001 series, Fruits Basket returns to VRV, Funimation, and Crunchyroll. Toru Honda looks to develop her relationships with the Souma household as the series heads into the Eternal Banquet arc.

However, Toru still has many secrets to learn about the Souma household including one of her primary love interests, Yuki Souma. Fruits Basket 2nd Season will be adapted by TSM Entertainment.

2 SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy 3 (Hidive)

Streaming on Hidive this spring, SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy returns for its third season. Members of the Volunteer Service Club, Hachiman Hikigaya, Yui Yuigahama, and Yukino Yukinoshita use unconventional methods to assist students around the school. These methods are often frowned upon by the school, but the colorful cast of characters manage to get the job done. Season three looks to depicts more crazy antics. SNAFU: My Teen Romantic Comedy 3 will be adapted by studio Feel.

1 Tower of God (VRV, Crunchyroll)

Rounding out the list is Tower of God. Based on a Korean Manhwa, Tower of God can be found on VRV and Crunchyroll. Rachel is a girl who wants to the see the stars and to do so she must climb to the top of the tower. Bam simply wants to be with Rachel and ventures into the tower after her. Each floor is a different trial for Bam as he makes his way up one at a time. Determined to be with Rachel, Bam must unlock his inner power and press on through hardships. Tower of God will be adapted by Telecom Animation Film studio.
