The concept is this - for the Ides of March, I tell you things that I'd have done in certain comics!!

But don't worry, I'm not talking about simple 20/20 hindsight things like pick a famous bad storyline and just say, "I wouldn't have done that" or "You know that cool character? I wouldn't have killed him/her."

No, I mean more like tweaks and nudges, stuff like that. Not major changes.

You can check out past years' I'ds to see what I'm talking about, or just read on!

RELATED: The 2019 I'ds of March!

This year, I've again asked my fellow CBR writers to share some I'ds of their own! I'll mix theirs in with mine!

I'D BRING BACK THE REPORTERS FROM DARWYN COOKE's TANGLED WEB ONE-SHOTS

In his brilliant "Open All Night" one-shot issue of Spider-Man's Tangled Web, Darwyn Cooke (working with J. Bone) introduced Jill Blythe...

and Kay Cohn....

Two Daily Bugle reporters who were, in their own ways, riffs on Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy, and they each had dates with Peter Parker on the same night, and when they compared notes, we see that they each saw Peter in very different lights...

I don't need them to be love interests for Peter, but they're interesting characters that I'd at least have show up in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man (or perhaps the new Silk series?). If anything, it's a nice tribute to a comic book master artist in the late, great Darwyn Cooke.

I'D MAKE FELICITY SMOAK THE NEW ORACLE, INCLUDING THE WHEELCHAIR

I made this same basic suggestion a few years back, but after reading the excellent graphic novel, The Oracle Code, I was thinking about how important it was to have a prominent superhero in a wheelchair and if Barbara Gordon is really out of reach, due to her Batgirl duties, then why not Felicity? It works best if it is a prominent character and Felicity is A. a prominent character due to the Arrow TV series, but also B. not someone who is being used anywhere else and, heck, C. she actually had a period where she was in a wheelchair on the TV series, as well!

So I'd like to see her used as the new Oracle, including having her end up in a wheelchair.

I'D "KILL OFF" AUNT MAY

CBR's Brenton Stewart wanted to kill off Aunt May. I said that that was a bit too major of a change, but I guess we could say "kill off," in the sense of write her out of the series. He noted, "Sadly, with how much she actually contributes to issue-by-issue stories I wouldn't think it's that major. Part of the reason I'd say she should go (or should've gone years ago, with her 90s death being particularly fitting) is just that she doesn't actually serve any purpose anymore."

I'D BRING BACK RACHEL VAN HELSING

I recently discussed how her death, following the end of the Tomb of Dracula series, was a misstep. However, reader Scott T. wrote in to note that when all of the vampires on Earth were brought back to life, she should be alive out there somewhere, and in that case, why is she NOT being used? She was a great character! She should totally be used somewhere now!

I'D HAVE HAL JORDAN BE A TOY SALESMAN AGAIN

I wrote the other day about Hal Jordan's brief period as a traveling toy salesman.

Reader Stephen W. wrote in to note, "That’s a pretty interesting occupation to give a character. To bad “traveling salesmen” is so dated. Maybe, now he could get a booth at conventions" and now I really want to see that happen! If not Hal, then I'd like to see SOME superhero who travels to conventions and does booths as their day job. That opens up a lot of avenue for adventures, right?

I'D HAVE MORE SHORTER ARCS

CBR's Dr. Kelsey Dickson would like to see shorter arcs. She explained, "I'd probably focus more on tighter stories as opposed to the longer serials. I mean, I wanted the exact opposite as a kid, but as an adult I can appreciate a tight story that gets the job done as opposed to a sprawling mess that drags on where details can be lost or plot points repeated."

I'D BRING BACK MARLO CHANDLER

Marlo Chandler was the Hulk's ex-girlfriend, Rick Jones' ex-wife AND Moondragon's ex-girlfriend. There sure seems to be a lot of room for a character with so many interesting connections, right?

I'D BRING BACK OLIVIA REYNOLDS

Similarly to Marlo, Olivia Reynolds dated Hal Jordan and Icemaiden of the Justice League and she also has a special powerful mind called the U-Mind that literally powers up an entire alien race and could be used to powerful all sorts of deadly weapons. How is that character NOT worth using?

I'D HAVE SHATTERSTAR JOIN AN X-MEN TEAM

CBR's Dion Bickham would like to bring Shatterstar to one of the X-Men books out there. He explained, "I'd include Shatterstar in one of the Dawn of X titles. We know he's on the island because he was shown in the crowd after Xavier was assassinated, and not using him seems like a waste. "

I'D BRING BACK THE EBONY DAGGER AS A PLOT POINT

Finally, I noted recently that when Roy Thomas gave Dane Whitman, the Black Knight, the cursed Ebony Blade, he also set it up that Dane could only be killed by another weapon made out of the same material as the Ebony Blade, which was shown in that first issue to be the Ebony Dagger.

Years later, Dane got a hold of the dagger, but it hasn't been seen in 25 years. With the Black Knight becoming a more important character in terms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as he is a key player in the upcoming Eternals film), then wouldn't that be a really cool plot line to bring back into play? Especially since Dane wasn't using the Ebony Blade the last time the Ebony Dagger came into play, so the whole magical connection was less of a big deal.

Okay, those are MY (and other CBR writers') "I'ds" of March, so now you folks share YOUR I'ds in the comments section! Or on Twitter. Or on Facebook. Wherever you feel like, really.
