Our pal Seth Hahne, of GoodOKBad fame, came up with this 31 Days of Comics challenge, one of those things where each day of the month you're given a different category that you then make a choice of a comic to fill that category. We did it last year and I figured it would be a fun bit to do again, so here we are! Click here to see each of the categories so far!

We continue with Day 5, which is A Great Love Story.

Read on for my pick and then you can share yours!

Last year, I went with Jaime Hernandez's awesome Love Bunglers, which was released as a collection in 2014. Go buy it!

For this year, I'll go with "The Nearness of You," from Astro City #1/2, by Kurt Busiek, Brent Anderson and Will Blyberg. where we meet a man haunted in his dreams by the memory of someone he never actually knew, a "Dream girl" that he can't get out of his head, so he fears actually sleeping because the feeling is so devastating. He exhausts every avenue of finding her and ultimately begins to contemplate just killing himself. The man is then visited by a cosmic hero who explains who the "Dream Girl" was - you know all of those various cosmic reboots comic book universes go through, like Crisis on Infinite Earths and Flashpoint? Well, what if one of them ended up with your wife being erased from existence?

Absolutely clever and absolutely killer, as Busiek digs into your heart and pulls. That is a heck of a love story.
