A replica of the Batmobile from the 1966 Batman television series could bring as much as $175,000 this weekend at a car auction in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Purported to be only the sixth Batmobile replica produced, by Jay Orhrberg Hollywood Cars, it was used in a U.S. tour warning children of the dangers of alcohol and drugs.

A Batcycle replica is expected to sell for somewhere between $10,000 and $20,000.

They're among about 45 vehicles offered up by the Cayman Motor Museum, opened in 2010 in Grand Cayman by Norwegian powerboat racer turned shipping magnate Andreas Ugland.

Although that amounts to about half of his personal collection, Ugland tells the Cayman Compass that he's constantly buying and selling vehicles, and already has 10 new cars. The museum has been closed for renovations for several weeks, and plans to reopen in the winter.

Ugland told the newspaper that while the Batmobile replica, which he bought in 2007 in London, is a big draw for tourists, it doesn't necessarily hold much value for collectors. “It is a fun kind of car," he says, "but not very serious.”

The original 1966 Batmobile, constructed by George Barris from a Lincoln Futura concept car, sold at auction in 2013 for $4.62 million. Barris and his crew later created three fiberglass replicas, which are in the hands of private owners.
