Warning: Spoilers ahead!

It's been nearly eight months since Joey King, the 12-year-old veteran of such films as Horton Hears a Who!, Ramona and Beezus and Battle: Los Angeles, landed an unnamed role in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. And during that time, well, we've pretty much forgotten all about her.

But now, King is back in the spotlight, confirming what many already suspected: that she's playing the pint-sized version of one of Batman's love interests/nemeses.

"I play young Talia al Ghul," she reveals to My Entertainment World. "I can’t give too much away because I promised Mr. Nolan I wouldn’t say anything. There are too many secrets about the character and the movie."

Presumably we'll see King in the flashback in which Josh Pence portrays plays the young Ra's al Ghul. While her role may be a throwaway cameo, it will likely reignite nagging speculation that Marion Cotillard's Miranda Tate isn't merely a Wayne Enterprises board member but Talia al Ghul bent on avenging her father. No matter what Cotillard insists.

The Dark Knight Rises also stars Christian Bale as Batman, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. It opens July 20.
