The seventh and final season of The 100 began with the various factions of Sanctum already at each others' throats as the last remnants of humanity struggled to survive.

These tensions come to a head in the promo for the season's third episode, titled "False Gods," as characters are already seen suffering their gruesome ends. As Clarke Griffin prepares to have the cult leader and eponymous false deity Russell Prime executed, chaos breaks out in the assembled community fueled by his zealous followers.

Unbeknown to Clarke and her friends, Russell is now controlled by the evil Sheidheda, a malevolent past consciousness that has completely taken over Russell's body to carry out his bloody agenda. The evil personality uploaded himself to a mind drive in Russell's body secretly in the Season 6 finale, plotting to kill anyone who stood in his way for total domination.

While Raven is seen addressing what appears to be a nuclear reactor failure, Russell's impending execution may appear to be the spark that finally sets Sanctum ablaze once more, putting humanity's last chance at peace in doubt.

The 100 stars Eliza Taylor, Marie Avgeropoulos, Bob Morley, Lindsey Morgan, Richard Harmon, Tasya Teles and Shannon Kook. The series airs on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
