When you get down to it, Spider-Man has a pretty weird life. Aside from being bitten by a radioactive Spider, he's been cloned multiple times, has swapped bodies with one of his greatest foes, has been brought back from the dead, and much more.

Despite these oddities, there are far more weird things that have happened to our friendly neighborhood, Spider-Man that even Marvel doesn't want to be reminded of. So, we're taking a look at ten weird stories that Marvel just pretended never happened. We're not calling all these stories bad, just really out of this world.

10 Spider-Man: Sin's Past - Gwen Stacy And Green Goblin

Kicking off this list is quite possibly the worst thing to happen to Gwen Stacy. In an attempt to give Gwen some more urgency in modern comics, it's revealed that Peter's first love had an affair with him. If you think it was with someone like Flash Thompson, you'd be dead wrong.

Sin's Past revealed that the person Gwen was with was his arch-enemy, Norman Osborn. If that's not bad enough, it's later shown that the two had twins. Fans hated this, and the twins have not been seen in years.

9 Amazing Spider-Man #386-#388 - Peter's Parents Are Alive And Dead

Oh the 90s era of comics, how much everyone reviles you. In this story, it's revealed that Peter Parker's parents were alive and had "faked" their deaths as part of some Secret Government plan. Yeah, not only were Peter's Parents still kicking, but they're government agents.

If that's not bafflingly dumb, then it's revealed they were in fact robots created by the Chameleon for Green Goblin so Peter could reveal to them his secret identity. Pretty odd, especially given that Green Goblin already knows that Peter Parker and Spider-Man are one and the same and Vise Versa.

8 Spider-Man: The Manga

Yu Komori putting on his Spider-Man mask from Spider-Man: The Manga.

Japanese storytelling is always going to come off as weird to audiences outside of Japan, even if Manga writers use American heroes like Spider-Man. There have been a few Manga based on Spider-Man, but we'll be talking about the first one from the 70s.

This version of Spidey is a Junior High School student named Yu Komo who gets bitten by a radioactive spider and becomes Spider-Man. While it starts innocent enough, this version, written by the late Kazumasa Hirai, was far darker and violent through its 13 volume run. One story has a PSTD soldier hijacking a plane; Yu... um, pleasure himself to the mental image of this versions MJ, Rumi, and is accused of sexual assault by a woman he saved. The Manga has only seen 8 of its 13 volumes translated.

7 Amazing Spider-Man #100 - #102 Gaining Six Arms

Spider-Man with too many arms

In this 3 issue storyline from the 70s, Peter is fed up with being Spider-Man and tries to get rid of his powers, but it inadvertently gives him four extra arms. Luckily for him, he's able to get help from Dr. Connors to revert to normal, after dealing with a new vampire foe.

Yup, this was the first time Morphius was introduced in the Marvel Universe. If you think this version of the story is weird, the 90s Spider-Man cartoon had him turning into a Man-Spider, which saw the Punisher and Kraven the Hunter teaming up to save him.

6 Spider-Man #131 - Aunt May Almost Marrying Doc Ock

So, in the 70s, Doc Ock hatches an elaborate scheme to Mary Spider-Man's Aunt May. The reason for this? To get a nuclear facility.

Yup, it turns out that Aunt May somehow inherited a nuclear facility in Canada. During a time after he is released from jail, He hires Aunt May as a Housekeeper and comes across a letter from a Canadian lawyer that she inherited a nuclear facility in Canada. So, he hides this information from her, kills the lawyer, and then attempts to marry May so he can kill her and inherit the nuclear facility. While May and Otto still have some romantic history, this little ordeal is often left out.

5 Ultimate Spider-Man #66-#67 - Swapping Bodies with Wolverine

If you're familiar with the Ultimate Spider-Man TV show, this one won't shock you in the bit, but it's still a pretty weird story that Brian Micheal Bendis came up with.

One Day, Peter and Wolverine wake up to find out that the two have swapped bodies. The two have to spend the rest of the day figuring out what's going on and fix it. Unlike in the Cartoon, where it's revealed to be done by Mesmero as a way to mess with them, it was Jean Grey who was doing all this because Wolverine hit on her the night before. You thought she was bad as the Phoenix.

4 Spider-Man Power Pack - Admitted to being Molested

Spider-Man is the last person you'd think of when it comes to superheroes that have been sexually assaulted. In one of the oddest PSA comics to come out, Power Pack sees that Peter Parker was molested before he became Spider-Man.

After saving a boy from being molested by his baby sitter, we flashback to Peter's pre-Spider-Man days when he meets a man named Skip. The two hit it off and become "Friends." Skip invites him to his house; they play some pool, Peter finds some porno magazines, and Skip gets closer to the young would-be hero. We never see what happens but, it's heavily implied that Skip molests Peter.

3 Spider-Man: Reign - Spider-Man: The Dark Knight Returns

Ever wonder what would happen if Spider-Man got the Dark Knight Returns treatment? Well, Spider-Man Reign has you covered. Like with DKR, Reign takes place in an alternate future where Spider-Man has come out of retirement to save a New York that has fallen under a totalitarian regime. It's a depressing story but has one of the craziest plot points in comics.

In it, Mary Jane is revealed to have died of Radiation poisoning, and Spider-Man's... other Web-Fluid was the culprit. We're just going to let that sink in for a bit.

2 2) Spider-Man: One More Day - The Deal with the Devil

The most hated Spider-Man story of all time has to be on this list just because of how weird it is. After Aunt May was shot and near death, Spider-Man tries everything in hopes to save her. However, the only person who can help him is none other than Mephisto, the Marvel Universes version of the Devil. He promises to heal Aunt May at the cost of his marriage with Mary Jane Watson.

He does, and everyone forgets that MJ and Peter were married, and Aunt May is perfectly fine. For years, Marvel editorial has regretted the two being married, but this was just the worst and weirdest way to do it.

1 Spider-Man: Changes - Re-Born with Organic Web-Shooters

Remember when Sam Raimi's Spider-Man had organic Web-Shooters rather than making them himself, like in the comics? While some fans were disappointed with this change, Marvel would eventually attempt to make them a thing in the mainline comics. While it was a noble intention, the way they brought them was just insane.

After an encounter with a spider villain called The Queen, Spider-Man slowly becomes an actual Spider and learns that he is pregnant, despite being Male. Eventually, the Spider dies but gives birth... to Spider-Man? Yeah, Spider-Man gives birth to himself, with all the memories he's had. The only difference is that he now has Organic Web-Shooters. The only thing we can say to that is to Quote Aunt May, "What The Fu...."
