It is no secret that a lot of CGI is involved in creating the beloved movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from the towering palaces of Asgard to the jungles of Wakanda. It seems as if places like this could only exist in the realm of fiction; however, many real life locations have also been incorporated into the filming process in order to bring the locations from Marvel Comics to life on the big screen. Here are 10 locations from the MCU that fans can visit in real life.

Sokovia

The beginning of Age Of Ultron sees the Avengers fighting Hydra in the Eastern European nation of Sokovia. The castle where Hydra's base is situated is Fort Bard in Italy, but the interior was shot in the tunnels of Dover Castle in England. The town of Verrès, Italy also stands in for the streets of Novi Grad, Sokovia in the evacuation scenes leading up to the grand showdown with Ultron. A large part of the final battle takes place around the town's central square, which is Hendon Police College in London, UK.

Warrior Falls

In Black Panther, Warrior Falls is the location where M'Baku and Killmonger challenge T'Challa in ritual combat for the Crown of Wakanda. While the close-up shots are filmed at a soundstage in Atlanta, the wide establishing shots are in fact filmed at Iguazu Falls, situated right at the border of Argentina and Brazil.

Forests of Asgard

Idris Elba as Heimdall

After Hela's destructive arrival on Asgard in Thor: Ragnarok, Heimdall leads the surviving Asgardians through a series of forests along Asgard's mountains. Fans don't have to go too far to find this cosmic location. It was shot on-location at Cedar Creek Falls within Tamborine National Park in Queensland, Australia.

Avengers Facility

Making its debut at the end of Age Of Ultron, the large facility has since been home to the Avengers until its destruction by Thanos during Endgame's climax. The building is in fact a digitally manipulated version of the Porsche Experience Center, a museum and tourist attraction in Atlanta, Georgia. Other locations are also used as well, including Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts in Norwich, England, and the SANY America building in Endgame.

Hell's Kitchen

Although it's not nearly as crime-ridden as its counterpart in Daredevil, the real life Hell's Kitchen maintains many of the same gritty aesthetics. Unlike the tough, working-class neighborhoods depicted in the show and the Daredevil comics, the real Hell's Kitchen in New York City is now more gentrified, with pricier housing than the show would suggest. If fans want to visit the locations that stood in for the grittier image of Hell's Kitchen seen on screen, they would have to venture throughout Manhattan, as filming takes place all over the city.

New Asgard

The landscape of New Asgard in the MCU.

While the signs for New Asgard seen during Avengers: Endgame suggests that the Asgardian community is in Tønsberg, Norway, in reality, the filming location takes place in the small fishing village of St Abbs, Scotland. Visitors to the quaint Scottish village will be greeted with signs from the Scottish Border Council with the words "St Abbs twinned with New Asgard".

Culver University

2008's The Incredible Hulk saw Culver University become a battleground between Bruce Banner and the pursuing military. The campus scenes are filmed at the University of Toronto's St. George Campus in Toronto, Canada; meanwhile, the courtyard battle is filmed at Morningside Park, also in Toronto. A large part of this film is in Canada's largest city, including the iconic fight between the Hulk and Abomination in Harlem, which is actually Toronto's Yonge Street.

Old Royal Naval College

Malekith from Thor 2

The setting for the final showdown between Thor and Malekith in Thor: The Dark World is filmed on location at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, UK. Thor even asks a rider on the London Underground how to get to Greenwich. The nearby streets and interiors are also used to film the Dark Elf invasion scenes.

Leipzig Airport

civil war airport fight

While a majority of the epic airport battle from Captain America: Civil War is shot on a soundstage in Atlanta, the actual Leipzig/Halle airport in Germany is used in a few scenes and can be seen in establishing shots. It is hard to tell which scenes are filmed on a soundstage and which are at the airport itself, as the production team recreates various parts of the airport with practical sets, as well as CGI.

Attilan

The city of Attilan from Marvel's Inhumans is supposed to be on the moon, but Marvel fans don't have to leave Earth to get a glimpse of the Inhuman capital. Multiple locations in Hawaii were chosen to bring Attilan to life, including the Hawaii State Capitol as the Royal Palace and the Battery Harlow at the Fort Ruger Military Reservation, which stands in for the Lower Caste district.
