After defeating Thanos and his army in Avengers: Endgame, it comes as no surprise that fans of the MCU are already looking ahead to what the future of the MCU has in store. With Thanos having orchestrated a lot of major events behind the scenes of the MCU, fans are left to ponder who will do so next.

One such villain that could potentially affect the MCU the most is Galactus, the "devourer of worlds." A former mortal man who witnessed the Big Bang and became a cosmic entity, here are ten heroes who managed to defeat him.

10 Squirrel Girl

One hero who is known to surprise fans by defeating some of the most powerful foes of the Marvel Universe has to be Squirrel Girl. Doreen Allene Green was born with the ability to communicate with squirrels, has a squirrel like tail and squirrel like abilities, and is a prominent member of the Great Lakes Avengers.

Eventually she got her own series in 2014, which featured a story arc with Galactus. Coming to Earth, he met the young hero after she borrowed Iron Man armor and flew to the moon. The two talked, and she convinced him to leave Earth.

9 Marvel Zombies

While becoming a zombie can make any hero take a dark and dangerous turn, these next characters to defeat Galactus were still heroes once, so it counts. Those heroes are the Marvel Zombies, an alternate universe where the Marvel Heroes succumbed to the zombie virus and ate the majority of their universe.

Galactus came to their planet seeking to consume it, unaware of the hero’s transformation. Instead of stopping him normally, the heroes just swarmed and ate the villain, at a time when the planet stopped having food for them. Consuming him gave them all the power cosmic to use.

8 Thor

One of the Avengers has had several encounters with the devourer of worlds, and that is none other than Thor. While first learning of Galactus and his origin when he saw the devourer battling Ego the Living Planet, he encountered the foe alongside Hercules and convinced him to leave Earth and one of his former heralds alone.

However the two have faced off multiple times since then, including a future King Thor battling the ancient cosmic entity. This would be perfect for the MCU, as Thor 4 is confirmed and it would make for a great introduction to the villain.

7 Gravity

One hero few people know about except for die hard Marvel fans who happened to defeat Galactus was none other than Gravity. Otherwise known as Greg Willis, Gravity had perished in battle holding a planet together after The Stranger attempted to destroy it, but his body was recovered and resurrected to become the protector of the universe by Epoch.

Galactus, after the Annihilation Wave, became such a threat that he sought to end Epoch. Using his newfound cosmic enhanced abilities, he unleashed a massive wave of energy at Galactus, satisfying his hunger and saving Epoch from a truly untimely end.

6 Ultimate Rick Jones

One interesting character to take down Galactus has to be the Ultimate Universe version of Rick Jones. After the events of Age of Ultron, Galactus was pulled into the Ultimate Universe, where he met his counterpart, the Gah Lak Tus swarm. He quickly converted the swarm into his herald and began seeking out planets to consume in the universe.

Warned by the Silver Searcher of the threat, Rick Jones of the Ultimate Universe battled the foe. Powered by the recently departed Captain Mahr Vehl, Rick Jones not only held his own against Galactus and the swarm but nearly destroyed them.

5 Dazzler

One character that has not gotten a lot of play in Marvel Comics outside of the X-Men universe has to be Dazzler. An aspiring musician who discovered her mutant abilities to create light shows during a concert, Alison Blaire has had many encounters with the larger Marvel Universe as a whole, including with Galactus.

When his herald Terrax is discovered, Galactus imbues the power cosmic to Dazzler, and has her battle and bring Terrax back to him. Discovering she doesn’t want to be Galactus’s servant, she battles her way out and leaves the devourer of worlds in the dust.

4 Quasar

Another hero who had a hand in defeating Galactus was none other than Quasar, aka Wendell Vaughn. An everyday man sort of alien superhero, the S.H.I.E.L.D. graduate was deemed unfit for field work due to a lack of a “killer instinct”. However this was what allowed him later during an AIM attack to wield the Quantum Bands, turning him into Quasar.

From becoming one of the protectors of the universe to working with the Avengers, Quasar is a popular hero. One mission involved him helping the Fantastic Four rescue a captured Johnny Storm from Galactus.

3 Ultimates

This next hero is actually a group of heroes, formed 2015 to protect the Earth from cosmic threats and who chose Galactus as their first target to tackle, and that group is The Ultimates. Formed in 2015, the group consists of Black Panther, Blue Marvel, Spectrum, Ms. America and Captain Marvel.

Deeming Galactus one of the biggest threats to the Earth, they capture and force him into his own incubator, but are surprised when the result of the incubator turns Galactus from the devourer of worlds to the Life bringer. This puts Galactus into a more heroic, life giving entity.

2 Silver Surfer

While many know that it was the Fantastic Four who first stopped the devourer of worlds, it was with the help of his former herald the Silver Surfer that they were able to win at the end of the day. After using the Ultimate Nullifier on him, the Fantastic Four freed the Silver Surfer, who used the power cosmic to repel his former master.

Exiled to Earth for his betrayal, the fan favorite Norrin Radd often refused his master’s demand to return to service over the years, and battled Galactus alongside many heroes, even convincing Galactus to be heroic sometimes.

1 Franklin Richards

The one hero to face and defeat Galactus that everyone forgets about has to be none other than Franklin Richards, the son of Reed and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four. Franklin is unique in that Galactus is one of many villains he has defeated over the years without so much as breaking a sweat.

Having the ability to recreate and change reality on a whim, Franklin is considered above all else a living god to many. When Abraxas was becoming a major problem, Franklin even summoned Galactus back to life and turned the devourer into his herald, flipping sides.
