DC anti-hero Harley Quinn is bigger than ever right now. She's had her comics fans (and her animation fans!) since her debut but her fandom has only grown since she came to the big screen. She stole the show in Suicide Squad and she captured even more hearts through Birds of Prey. Women, men, and non-binary folks alike love her spunky attitude.

Harley's not a hero, exactly, but she's not a villain either. She does good things in bad ways. Well, sometimes. She has faults, which is more than many heroes can say. That makes her appealing to fans. So appealing they want to immortalize her on their bodies forever. If you want to too, here's some inspiration.

9 Symbolic Harley

Not every tattoo has to be literal. Instead of Harley's face and body, why not create a symbolic ode to the Cupid of Crime? That's what this tattoo does. Roses in Harley's Quinn-tissential blue and pink paired with a heart and two of her weapons are layered over each other.

The whole thing is wrapped up in the word "rotten" a reference to Harley's "spoiled rotten" moniker and movie tattoo. This tattoo's level of detail and definition make it the perfect tribute.

8 Caution Tape Jacket Harley

This tattoo comes straight from Birds of Prey. This is Egg Sandwich Harley. Well, it's the outfit she was wearing on her epic egg sandwich quest. She wears the caution tape jacket, depicted in stunning rainbow.

They've added Harley's classic hammer to this tattoo and wrapped up the whole package in one of Harley's diamonds. This tattoo is colorful, fun, and will always remind the bearer of the liberating Emancipation of One Harley Quinn.

7 Minimalist Harley

Minimalism can add a little subtlety to fandom. Only true fans will know what you're repping on your skin. Others will just wonder what those neat drippy diamonds are. Those neat drippy diamonds are a glowing tribute to the tragic and wonderful mess that is Harley Quinn.

The three diamonds are basically Harley's calling card. The red and black are the colors of her comics costume. The beautiful watercolor drip could be a metaphor or it could be a reference to the acid bath that changed her life. It's up to the bearer.

6 Cute Harley

Harley Quinn doesn't always have to be badass. Why not choose a cutesy art style to depict our girl? This tattoo does just that. It's Harley with an adorably big head and tiny body. She's got big ol' baby blues and cute little smile. She's dressed as Harley from Suicide Squad but there are harlequin diamonds on either side of her.

This Harley looks cute but she could still definitely kick a**. She still carries her bat, just in case. Harley is a big proponent of the idea that women can look cute while kicking butt. This tattoo is no exception.

5 Vulnerable Harley

This glorious tattoo is also inspired by Birds of Prey. This is Harley at her most vulnerable. She's on her own for the first time in a long time. She's broken, but she's hell-bent on picking up the pieces. She has to break to become better. What a bold choice for a tattoo.

This is some gorgeous linework. It's simple, just black ink, maybe some gray in there too. But somehow the power shines right out of Harley's eyes. It could have a powerful meaning to the bearer if they so choose.

4 Comics Harley

Now, this is classic comics Harley. She's got an eerie teal tint to her skin and wears a tiny tribute to her red and black harlequin outfit. She even carries her enormous hammer. This Harley is about to smash some baddies and really, really enjoy it.

This grand tattoo even has the red and black diamonds so characteristic of the harlequin look. The purple roses complete this neotraditional style tattoo.

3 "Birds of Prey" Harley

This incredible work of art again depicts Birds of Prey Harley Quinn. The tattoo looks exactly like the woman behind the big screen's Harley, Margot Robbie. It's the image from the poster, in fact. She purses her lips, accentuating her sharp cheekbones.

There's a hint of her yellow jumpsuit and she wears the newly iconic heavy charm necklace. This particular tattoo is impressive. Not only is it huge but it also replicated both oil paintings and watercolor.

2 Sketched Harley

Color isn't always necessary for tattoos. Black ink can work magic on skin without any other colors involved. This Harley is wearing her most traditional look. She's got the jester hat, the diamond mask and a smile that says 'I'm looking forward to smashing you'.

This tattoo is meant to look like a sketch. The artist could've taken a pencil to skin to create this instead of a needle, it's that good. The shading...just, wow.

1 Suicide Squad Harley

This is Suicide Squad Harley immortalized on flesh. She wears the "Daddy's Little Monster" shirt atop booty shorts and fishnet tights. Her pigtails are full-length before she cut them off after her breakup with the Joker. She carries a bat, her weapon of choice for that movie.

There's a lovely watercolor quality to this tattoo. A rainbow of splatters blur and drip behind Harley as the Joker's laugh reverberates around her. It's a wonderfully bright, colored piece.
