The list of anime that stopped at one season is an incredibly long list of shows. Millions of fans have gotten emotionally invested with a series, and then, to their dismay, they figure out there’s no more content for them to watch. Years and years will go by, and no news of another season will ever surface. This lack of show renewals has caused fans to go to extreme lengths to get another season of their favorite binge—from writing petitions to writing the creators directly.

Here are ten anime that never got a second season, but definitely deserves one.

10 Baccano

Ladd and Lua from Baccano!

Baccano is an anime that had fans hooked. Told through non-linear storytelling, the plot revolves around characters ranging from gangsters, immortal beings, criminals, monsters, alchemists, and more. What’s even more interesting is that all of these characters are trapped on a train ride from hell. The anime is a melting pot of excitement, and, better yet, it is all set to a swanky jazz track-list.

Fans have been questioning for years why this anime hasn’t gotten a second season. It’s been almost 13 years since the show has been released, and still, there is no news of a sequel. However, there are 22 volumes of the manga anime fans can read to help satisfy their Baccano thirst.

9 Ouran High School Host Club

Ouran high school

Ouran High School Host Club has become a legendary show in the anime community. This anime is made up of a beloved cast of characters and a plot that brings endless comedy and drama. Haruhi Fujioka, the protagonist of the show, is caught in a predicament after she breaks an expensive heirloom. Since Haruhi is poor, she settles to pay the debt by disguising herself as a boy to work in the school's host club. The host club is full of attractive boys who woo ladies in exchange for money. As one can guess, this creates hilarious, awkward, and ridiculous situations that fans couldn't get enough of.

It's been almost 14 years since Ouran High School Host Club was released. In an interview, the creator Bisco Hatori did say she would be interested in seeing a season two come to life. But actual concrete news of another season is still just rumors and speculation. Luckily, season one can be binge-watched over and over by fans on Netflix.

8 High School Of The Dead

High School of the Dead surprised a lot of viewers when it premiered almost a decade ago. Teens in the middle of a zombie apocalypse—which included gruesome gore and copious amount of fan service—made this anime into somewhat of a cult classic. However, this zombie, action, thriller only got a 12-episode adaption, which was four volumes from the manga.

Fans who want to just read from the source material are out of luck, too. The writer, Daisuke Satō, died before he could finish it. It's very unlikely that the manga or the anime will see a reinstatement anytime soon.

7 Deadman Wonderland

The first episode of Deadman Wonderland was released on April 17, 2011. The anime was based on a series of manga written by Jinsei Kataoka following a boy falsely accused of murder. This boy ends up going to this carnival-from-hell-like prison where prisoners have to fight and play games to survive. Prisoners are subjected to strange, cruel, and humiliating punishment while citizens can watch them like it's a trip to the zoo.

The anime adaptation aired content from the first 21 chapters of the manga but ended that same year of release with no news of a second season. Almost a decade later, it is clear that there will probably never be a second season of Deadman Wonderland. Fans' only way to quench their obsession is to read the manga.

6 Angel Beats!

Although Angel Beats! has such a dedicated fan base, over nine years later, there has been no word of a season two.

The reality of probably never having a season two does not stop Angel Beats! fans from still being obsessed with the show. Almost every year fans have partaken in a yearly April Fools joke of spreading false news that the show is coming back. If you see Angel Beats! trending online, make sure you check what day it is.

It's been almost eight years since this anime's release, and there is little probability that this anime will suddenly get a season two.

1 Princess Jellyfish

Princess Jellyfish is a beautifully animated show and is great for romance comedy lovers. Originally aired ten years ago, it revolved around an apartment housed by only otaku women. The men-free zone is the home of the show's protagonist, Tsukimi Kurashita. Tsukimi has a fear of attractive people and general interaction, which makes her a very socially awkward character. The eleven episodes that were released for the show are only a fraction of the source material, as Princess Jellyfish has 17 volumes of content to read.

The abrupt ending to the show was sad for intense fans of the anime, but that doesn't change the fact that this anime can be watched again without getting old.
