While My Hero Academia may be a world filled with superheroes, at the end of the day, this series is all about the students. It's one thing to tell a story about the supers of today, but My Hero Academia has done a great job of telling the stories of those of tomorrow. Sadly, however, with the series' large cast, it's hard enough to cover everybody's journey, even within just Class 1-A.

With only so much screen time in the world, it's easy to overlook certain characters, even an entire classroom. That's why this list will be breaking down the students of the underappreciated Class 1-B, as it ranks all of them according to likability.

21 Neito Monoma

Neito Monoma grinning in frustration in My Hero Academia

Right at the bottom, it's none other than the easy target for U.A.'s traitor, Neito Monoma. Down to his Quirk, everything about this guy screams future super villain.

And while this adds some complexity and sympathy to this guy's plight to become a hero of his own, he doesn't make it easy given his obnoxious attitude and constant jeers against Class 1-A.

20 Kosei Tsuburaba

Kosei Tsuburaba from My Hero Academia

Kosei Tsuburaba doesn't really stand out much as an anime character. His eyes are his main character design, and his Quirk seems plain. Unfortunately, his main claim to fame seems to be acting as the Minoru Mineta of Class 1-B, as he was shown with some dirty thoughts during the Joint Training Arc.

19 Reiko Yanagi

Reiko Yanagi may have not done anything as abhorrent as her colleague, Monoma, but she really hasn't proven much of anything else. Her entire character is as lifeless as her Quirk. Taking on the characteristics, complexion, and abilities of a deathly spirit, Reiko is just about as apparent as any ghost.

18 Yui Kodai

Yui Kodai Concept Art

Yui Kodai gets some points for celebrating one of anime's favorite archetypes, kuuderes. However, it is for that exact same reason that she ranks so low. Without much personality and an inherent coldness to her, it's hard to rank her all that high on this list.

17 Hiryu Rin

Hiryu Rin is just one of those characters that exists. Horikoshi Kohei wanted a vibrant school full of heroes but kind of just ran out of ideas every now and then. Thus, Hiryu, a guy with scale powers and whose personality consists of being part of Class 1-B, is born.

16 Yosetsu Awase

Awase is one of the more brash voices within Class 1-B. As hardheaded as someone with Quirk like Weld should be, Awase always pushes forward with his own ideals, making him both prideful and ambitious.

15 Kojiro Bondo

Kojiro Bondo gets major points for his interesting character design and tendency to play the gentle-giant trope, a favorite within fiction as a whole.

Being nice and having an interesting Quirk like Cemedine (think glue machine gun) also help in the likability department.

14 Togaru Kamakiri

Togaru Kamakiri's sharp blades can do damage to All Might

Togaru Kamakiri falls in line with old, Shonen stereotpes. He's gruff, has a sharp character design, and always wants to fight. It's a classic combo that never fails to get a few fans. Plus, his character design just makes it easy to look at him.

13 Kinoko Komori

Kinoko Komori is a character whose confidence and resilience really shines through during action. During the Join Training Arc, she had a great showing with both her personality and Quirk, Mushroom. Adding on the fact that her hero costume is a callback to fantasy series, and there's just no hating this girl.

12 Sen Kaibara

sen kaibara

Sen Kaibara can be seen as the guy in the background who is always trying to keep Monoma in check and is always maintaining a level head between everybody. The only exception is during battles, in which, he excels with his cool-looking Quirk, Gyrate. He's also seen as just a good looking guy in Class 1-B which is always good.

11 Pony Tsunotori

MHA Pony Tsunotori

Pony is the new, foreign kid in Class 1-B. Her native naievete and gentle attitude already make her a more approachable person. However, she's also tough in action as her tactical abilities and Quirk, Horn Cannon, have proven useful to her classmates.

10 Nirengeki Shoda

Nirengeki Shoda

Nirengeki just looks like a classic underdog. He doesn't have the strong, sharp features of a more traditional hero but that's what lets his timidity and niceties shout out even louder. One shouldn't underestimate either, as his Quirk, Twin Impact, and battle intellect make him a force on the battlefield.

9 Ibara Shiozaki

Ibara Shiozaki clasping her hands in the sunlight in My Hero Academia.

Ibara Shiozaki has to be one of the most charitable and devoted characters among Class 1-B, albeit with a bit of piosness. Ibara appears to be very religious if not, at least, incredibly self-righteous, as she constantly talks faith, sins, and rightfulness among her classmates. While this personality can be a little strong, it only furthers one of the most dedicated characters in the class whose faithful tongue only hides some wicked fighting abilities.

8 Juzo Honenuki

Juzo is one of the major pillars of Class 1-B. He is one of the recommended students and has a clear maturity that shines through as leadership among his peers. With strong competency as a tactician and combatant, Juzo could quickly become a fan favorite with a little more screen time.

7 Shihai Kuroiro

Shihai Standing Alongside Monoma

Shihai Kuroiro is Tokoyami's rival at being the mandatory edgy kid of the classroom. He's a more underhanded type of tactician that opts to use tricks and deception to get his way. While this could prime him as a future villain, it just makes him all the more interesting as a prospective hero. Mellowing him out a little bit is his apparent yet shy crush on classmate, Kinoko Komori.

6 Jurota Shishida

Jurota Shishida is clearly modeled after X-Men's Beast and in no way does that work against him. Jurota is a surprisingly eloquent and mature character whose personality, more so than his looks, stand out among Class 1-B. With that in mind, his design and Quirk, Beast, also make him an easy model for future action figures.

5 Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu

tetsutetsu mha talking

Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu is one of the clearest call backs to classic Shonen jump within all of My Hero Academia. He's just as brash and ambitious as his rival Class 1-A, Eijiro Kirishima, but that competitive nature just makes him more appealing. With passion like a true hero and tensile strength like a steel beem, Tetsutetsu is another core member of Class 1-B.

4 Setsuna Tokage

Setsuna Tokage from My Hero Academia

Setsuna Tokage is one of the most energetic and well-balanced kids in all of Class 1-B. Her optimism and leadership skills make her a tour de force among her peers, and her uncanny fighting ability and Quirk, Lizard Tail Splitter, just make her even cooler as a character.

There's no wonder as to why she's one of Class 1-B's recommended students.

3 Manga Fukidashi

Here's an unfair entry. No one encapsulates the fantastical limits of My Hero Academia better than Manga Fukidashi. His Quirk literally harnesses the power of  manga sound effects, making his panels both expressive and action packed. On top of that, the guy looks like a dramatic speech bubble, is incredibly energetic, and can inherently make anyone, especially children, smile.
