Disney’s “Zootopia” dominated the 44th Annie Awards, taking home six wins on Saturday, including best animated feature.

Presented by Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, the annual awards recognize excellence in animation.

"Zootopia" also walked away with honors for best character design, directing, storyboarding, voice acting and writing in an animated feature. Laika’s “Kubo and the Two Strings” won three awards, for character animation, editing and production design. Disney’s other animated outing for the year, “Moana,” took earned two awards for animated effects and voice acting. “The Jungle Book” won best character animation in a live-action production.

It’s been a good year for "Zootopia," the noir-tinged film about the unusually paired crime-fighting rabbit and downtrodden fox, having won the Golden Globe and Critics' Choice awards for animated feature. It's also in the running for the Oscar for best animated feature. "Zootopia" earned $1.02 billion worldwide, becoming the sixth-highest grossing film of 2016.
