Heroes Reborn might have gained one Zachary, but it won't be getting another.

As Chuck star Zachary Levi announced he's joining the NBC revival, original series star Zachary Quinto confirmed he won't be reprising his role as the superpowered serial killer Sylar.

“I’m not going back,” the actor told BuzzFeed. “[Series creator] Tim [Kring] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me. I just felt like I didn’t want to go back to it.

“Tim was very, very understanding,” Quinto continued. “I’m thrilled that they’re doing it. I’m thrilled that Jack Coleman is going back to it. It’s a great thing to be a part of. I just felt like I need to cultivate other outlets for myself.”

Heroes, which aired from 2006 to 2010, was Quinto's breakthrough role, leading to such projects as Star Trek and American Horror Story. Aside from Coleman, there's been no indication that any of Heroes' original cast will return.

Earlier this month, Kring noted that although the writers' room is all set up, production on Heroes Reborn won't kick off for another few months, which means the series will premiere this summer at the earliest.
