Created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the X-Men have captivated readers since their introduction in 1963. The original team would expand and blossom into dozens of X-Teams and thousands of mutants. With so many mutants in the world, there's no shortage of characters who deserve the spinoff treatment that's been almost exclusively reserved for Wolverine.

Several X-Men have appeared in TV shows, video games, and movies, but hardly any of them have secured their own spin-off film. Known for their compelling backstories, light-hearted nature, or iconic status, these merry mutants would seize the audiences' attention and keep them engaged until the end.

10 Iceman Has Had Several Great Solo Runs

Bobby Drake is Iceman in X-Men comics

One of the founding members of the X-Men, Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, is one of the two Omega-leveled mutants from the original team alongside Jean Grey. Iceman has the Mutant ability of Cryokinesis, which has branched into him being practically immortal and able to multiply at will.

Since 2015, Iceman has seen a shift in his character. Accepting himself and becoming openly gay in 2016, Iceman starred in a fantastic solo series. This version of Bobby Drake deserves a chance at the big screen, and his solo series offers plenty of plot lines to adapt.

9 Cyclops Needs Time Away From A Team

Like Iceman, Cyclops was a founding member of the X-Men and often led the group, navigating Mutant-kind through dozens of major events since he was just a teenager. Cyclops often toes the line between being a hero and an anti-hero, even killing Charles Xavier on a tragic occasion.

A solo film looking at Cyclops on his own is something the character needs. He's been a constant staple on most teams, even embodying Captain Krakoa when the world thought he was dead. He's even starred in epic solo stories that helped him explore who he is.

8 Jubilee Is Already A Fan Favorite

The first character fans meet in X-Men ’92, Jubilation Lee, aka Jubilee, is a storied character who became a student of Charles Xavier's. In time, she trained with Wolverine, was a vampire for a season, and became a mother. With so many facets to her character, she's received several solo series that focused on her various paths.

Jubilee has made several appearances across the live-action movies, including her most recent role in Apocalypse, where she was portrayed by Lana Condor. Jubilee received little screen time, prompting fans to beg for her return.

7 Forge Has Deep History To Explore

Forge X-Men Marvel Comics - Dungeons and Dragons Artificer Inspiration

Forge isn't as much of a household name as Wolverine or Gambit, but he's acted as a backbone for the various X-Teams for decades. A Native American Mutant and Tribal Shaman, Forge uses both sets of power to assist his fellow X-Men with his technology and mystic abilities.

The recently released Prey showed that Native American stories can be properly told while including a science fiction edge, which is exactly what a Forge spin-off film would need. Exploring both his Mutant and Shaman abilities would prove both entertaining for audiences and important for Marvel.

6 X-23 Is Primed For A Spinoff Sequel

The most likely to receive a spinoff film, X-23, aka Laura Kinney, is the clone of Wolverine. Trained as an assassin, she fought her programming and became the All-New Wolverine. She made her first appearance in X-Men: Evolution before making her way to the NYX comics and several teen-focused titles like Avengers Arena.

An extremely talented Mutant, X-23 has a powerful healing factor and claws in both hands and both feet. X-23’s spinoff potential is extremely high due to the profit and fan response the movie Logan produced. The spinoff shouldn't use her NYX origin, but should create something better, reintroducing a teenage Laura.

5 X-Factor Investigations Can Add Some Levity

X-Factor Investigations consists of Multiple Man, Strong Guy, Wolfsbane, Siryn, Rictor, Butterfly, and more. This team started as just Multiple Man doing private investigations with occasional help from his friends before becoming a government-sponsored team.

Originally inspired by X-Files, an X-Factor Investigations spinoff film can merge the often overly serious storylines of X-Men films with a healthy amount of comedy. Besides making for a compelling watch, an X-Factor spin-off would also give the lesser-known heroes more spotlight.

4 Kid Omega Is The Perfect Teenager With Attitude

Quentin-Quire-Kid-Omega-XMen-2

More than most of the X-Men, past and present, Quinten Quire/Kid Omega represents the truest version of a super-powered teenager. Completely full of himself and lucky enough to have the power to back it up, Kid Omega is an extremely powerful Omega Level Mutant.

Armed with powerful telekinesis and psionics, Quinten once acted as a host for the Phoenix Force. Kid Omega can be grating to deal with thanks to his sheer power and cockiness, but movie-going audiences would take to him quickly if he has the right plot guiding him along.

3 Cecilia Reyes Is A Combat Medic

Cecilia Reyes

Cecilia Reyes is a world class medic and mutant with the ability to create force fields to shield herself and her patients. While she spent little time as a mutant, and even less on an X-Team, she's routinely found herself assisting mutants and humans without a second thought.

There are plenty of storylines that can be adapted for a Cecilia Reyes spinoff film, including a potential wartime storyline that follows her to the front lines. Learning to control and develop her powers as she works to heal others and protect herself, Cecilia would make a compelling protagonist.

2 Doop Can Be A Better Howard The Duck

While Doop seems like a left-field choice for a spinoff or solo movie, his chaotic energy and enjoyable presence make him the perfect candidate. Acting as a merging of Ghostbuster’s Slimer and Deadpool, Doop is an enigma.

Doop's backstory has been changed several times, and some iterations include him being an alien or being created in a lab. While many of the characters from the various X-Teams deserve solo projects, Doop fills the need for a zany, light-hearted project among the X-Men franchise's more serious films.

1 Storm Deserves Full Attention

Marvel Comics' Storm flying into battle

Perhaps the most deserving of a spinoff, Storm remains one of the most iconic members of the X-Men and a staple of the Marvel universe. The descendant of a long line of African Priestesses, a mutant, an orphan, and eventually a Queen in Wakanda, Storm's backstory is loaded with intriguing content.

Capable of starring in several spin-off films, Storm boats immense power on par with Omega Level mutants Jean Grey and Iceman. Her ability to control the weather and the atmosphere consistently shatters previous limitations, allowing her to control cosmic bodies with ease.
