Whether it's a trip to the Savage Land or fighting off time-displaced enemies, Jason Aaron's "Wolverine and the X-Men" has X-Fans covered. The book's current arc features a field trip and head-to-head matchup with Wolverine's time-displaced brother, Dog Logan, first introduced in "Wolverine Origin." As the arc wraps up, readers are undoubtedly curious as to what's next for the premiere school for mutants.

X-POSITION caught up with Aaron this week to discuss his future plans for "Wolverine and the X-Men" as the writer answered pressing reader questions about new additions to the Jean Grey School, possible field trips and the (hopefully) inevitable Doop/Lockheed team-up story everyone's been secretly asking for.

4thSummersboy starts off this week with a question about new addition to the book Eye Boy.

Wanted to say love the writing! Eye Boy is becoming one of my favorite new students, I was wondering is he the type of mutant that the Skrulls were afraid of during their invasion?

Jason Aaron: You never know. There just might be more to Eye Boy... than meets the eye. (Rimshot). I love the little googly-eyed guy too. Especially with Ramon Perez bringing so much life to the character in the current arc. If it was up to me, I'd probably fill the Jean Grey School with loads of weird looking kids like Eye Boy and Glob Herman. But [editor] Nick Lowe makes me put some pretty ones in there sometimes too. Eye Boy fans (you know who you are), don't miss issue #29.

drago is hoping for more field trips in the future of the Jean Grey School students and faculty.

Dear Mr. Aaron, I've been digging the Savage Land arc, and would love to see more field trips from the cast of the Jean Grey School. What other exotic locations in the Marvel U would you like to take them to and why?

The way this field trip is going, I don't imagine Wolverine is going to be up for another one anytime soon. But as for exploring other exotic locations, I'm really interested in this network of schools that seems to be developing around the Marvel U, including the Fantastic Four's Future Foundation and the Braddock Academy that's been introduced over in "Avengers Arena." I wonder if there could be more?

Considering the connection this arc has had to your "Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine" run, will we get a chance to see more of the characters you introduced in that series in "Wolverine and the X-Men?"

I do have plans for one other character seen in "Astonishing Spider-Man and Wolverine," but can't say who just yet. And no, I'm afraid it's not Doom the Living Planet.

mr_infinite is hoping for one or two spoilers following the events of "X-Termination."

In the greater scheme of continuity, will the events of "X-Termination" and Wolverine's "Astonishing" squad have any major effect on "Wolverine and the X-Men?" Marjorie Liu teased in last week's X-Position that Iceman is set to become a major villain.

We'll just have to wait and see. I know better than to spoil one of Marjorie's stories. I've still got the scars from the last time I crossed her. (And she calls me "Brutal Bear.")

Ian wants more Mad Squad in the pages of "Wolverine and the X-Men" and wants to know about possible future appearances.

Any chance we could see any more of the Mad Squad in the pages of "Wolverine & the X-Men?"

Well, there is a new Dr. Frankenstein running around now, so you never know. That's just the sort of mad scientist they like to come after.

Doop fan earboy is hoping for another one-shot in a day in the life of the most enigmatic X-Man.

Doop is one of my favorite characters and the one-shot drawn by Michael Allred was just fantastic. Do you plan to revisit the whole "Doop's day off" concept again? What would you like to have him do if you got a chance to revisit that concept?

I love Doop, but it'd be hard to top that previous issue unless Mike Allred could come back to do it. And he's already pretty busy being awesome over in "FF." So for now, just expect Doop to continue on as the world's most ass-kicking guest star.

Mr.bananacrust is a Gambit fan and hopes for some more exposure in "Wolverine and the X-Men" for one of his favorite characters.

Hey Jason, I'm a really big fan of the book, but I feel like you still haven't gotten to a lot of the cast members you have around, like Gambit. I had high hopes when he went to the school thinking he would hopefully get some page time with Wolverine. Any chance of this happening?

Gambit was never really part of my cast. He's at the school, yeah, but there have always been multiple series set at the school, focusing on different characters. There's no way any one book can cover all the kids and staff of the school. And the cast of "Wolverine and the X-Men" is already huge enough. Last I checked, there were 23 official Grey School twitter accounts. And that's not even everybody. Wolverine, of course, still refuses to tweet.

Kitty Pryde fan cora reef is hoping for some Lockheed/Doop action in the future.

Kitty's been really busy lately, pulling double duty in both "Wolverine and the X-Men" and "All-New X-Men" (and soon to be hanging out in "X-Men"). Will getting spread this thinly affect her demeanor at all in "WATXM?" I think this is the largest number of squads she's ever been on.

Kitty's a busy lady, but she's keeping it together. She just got done getting a whole crazy new school up and running. So she can handle being in a few books at once. The more Kitty, the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Lockheed and Doop seem like a pairing that's perfect for comics, but hasn't really ever taken place. Do these two interact behind the scenes at the Jean Grey School?

You must be reading my mind. (Maybe you should apply for a Grey School scholarship.) I was just thinking about that same pairing the other day. You're right, I am an utter failure for not having already made this happen. Back in issue #17, the Doop issue, we did see Lockheed waiting outside Doop's door with some golf clubs. Maybe we need to see the rest of that day. Doop and Lockheed go golfing! I promise you, I will endeavor to make a Doop/Lockheed story happen at some point. And hopefully I can come up with something more exciting than golf.

Finally, here's this week's Behind the X question: If you could take away one character's superpowers, who would it be and why?

Take away? I'm not looking to take away anybody's powers. Though if you ask Nick Lowe, he might say a new character who makes his illustrious debut in "Wolverine and the X-Men" #31. A character I still can't believe Marvel is letting me get away with. Fingers crossed.
