UPDATE (March 11, 2017): According to Entertainment Weekly, Joseph Morgan has NOT joined the cast, but was merely sitting in for the table read.

Audiences may have their first clue as to what the title will be for Fox’s upcoming X-Men-based television drama. Lauren Shuler Donner, a producer on the project, shared an image of the cast on Twitter with the following message: "Cast reading of 'Gifted' #Gifted."

In the photo are confirmed cast members Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont, Amy Acker, Stephen Moyer, Natalie Alyn Lind, Blair Redford and Sean Teale. One notable new face is Joseph Morgan from The CW's "The Originals" (via Heroic Hollywood). It looks like Morgan could be joining the show, which may go by the name of "Gifted," or perhaps, "X-Men: Gifted."

Created by Matt Nix (“Burn Notice”), the joint Fox/Marvel production follows two ordinary parents (Acker and Moyer) who discover their children possess extraordinary powers. Forced to go on the run from the government, they join an underground network of mutants and must fight for their survival.

Although it was revealed in January that the drama will feature a version of the mutant-hunting robots the Sentinels, Nix later teased that Marvel Comics readers will definitely recognize other elements. “Suffice it to say it’s a show that contains some characters that fans will be excited about,” he said. “I can’t talk about specifics, but it’s not like there are no X-Men in it.”

X-Men franchise veteran Bryan Singer will executive produce alongside Nix, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.
