While there was plenty of romance in the original X-Men films -- between Jean Grey and Cyclops, between Rogue and Iceman, between Jean Grey and Wolverine -- none of that involved Storm. However, actress Halle Berry reveals she helped to create a romantic, if not entirely happy, history for her character.

“Storm and Logan used to be lovers,” the Oscar winner told Jess Cage of People and Entertainment Weekly. “It’s true. Storm and Logan had a thing.”

She characterized their relationship as "wonderful, for a time" -- that is, until Logan was drawn to Famke Janssen's Jean Grey, leaving Storm "heartbroken." "The claws were good," the actress joked, "but the having-two-girls-at-once thing, that didn't work for ... that doesn't work for Storm."

Storm and Hugh Jackman's Logan do indeed share a passionate kiss in a deleted scene from 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, leading the two of them to craft a shared past for their characters.

"The last movie I was in, we had a scene where they had a kiss," Berry said. "It never made the movie, but ... so what I'm telling you is true. This is the backstory that we came up with for Storm -- well, Hugh and I did -- that they had a thing. I joke in the movies, I’m like, ‘How come nobody’s lovin' on Storm?’ Like, what’s wrong with Storm? Nobody is checking for Storm. [...] So, we decided that Storm and Logan had a thing, and then Jean came and -- pfft -- messed that up.”
