Fox's upcoming "X-Men" series "Gifted" just kicked off production. Longtime "X-Men" producer Lauren Shuler Donner, who will also oversee the show, shared the first set photo on her Twitter. Though the photo doesn't reveal much, it does show star Amy Acker filming a scene as director Bryan Singer looks on. In the shot, Acker is seated the passenger seat of a car, talking to someone in the driver's seat.

Shuler Donner has been with the franchise since 2000's "X-Men." She has ushered in just about every "X-Men" movie to date, including "X-Men: First Class," "Logan" and "Deadpool." She is also attached to "X-Force," "New Mutants" and "Gambit" as well as the FX series "Legion," which is also an "X-Men" property.

Created by Matt Nix (“Burn Notice”), “Gifted” follows two ordinary parents who discover their children possess extraordinary powers. Forced to go on the run from the government, they join an underground network of mutants and must fight for their survival. Produced by Fox and Marvel Television, the series also stars Amy Acker, Stephen Moyer, Sean Teale and Coby Bell. The show does not yet have a release date.
