X-MEN: FIRST CLASS
Our pals over at Spinoff Online have a roundup of rumors regarding actor Ben Walker and his status as Hank McCoy in the film. After some rumblings that he’d been dropped, Showbiz 411 reports that he has indeed chosen to continue with his Broadway role in “Andrew Jackson” instead of the film. The interesting part is reports of Fox being nervous after a string of box office disappointments and the desire to have a “Twilight” style hit. “James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender remain with the film. They’re the ‘senior’ cast, which is just hilarious,” writes Showbiz 411’s Roger Friedman.
Release date: June 3rd, 2011
Bleeding Cool and various other sites posted this official-looking photo of “Conan”:
I don’t know if we’ll ever see this style image painted on the side of a van. The site also spotted some more set pics at MoreMomoa featuring Jason Momoa as Conan fighting some … vampire?

COWBOYS & ALIENS

Olivia Wilde talks with MTV News about the film. “He’s The Dude! [Laughs] It doesn’t get cooler than that! It’s funny. [The production crew of] “New Moon” was in town shooting and they wanted to have a bowl off, and I was like, “Bring it on. You know we have The Dude, do you really want to have a bowl off?” He’s amazing. He’s really like a leader. It’s been great for Garrett [Hedlund] and I to work with him so much, to follow his examples. His professionalism is unparalleled. I’ve never worked with anyone so humble and gracious, so it’s really cool to see him put just as much into a sci-fi flick as this as he would into “The Big Lebowski,” a Coen Bros. movie, and anything. I can see why he shone so much in “Iron Man.” I see the way he approaches it. It’s just like a character piece,” she says of co-star and original “Tron” alum Jeff Bridges.
Starring Jeff Bridges, release date: December 17th, 2010
Yesterday, Edgar Wright, director of the best trailer in the full “Grindhouse” experience posted to his Twitter account the following: “So, get this, tomorrow I am doing a commentary on ‘Don’t’. Some of you will know what that means is finally happening.” It is presumed he means the theatrical version of “Grindhouse” will be released. After a disappointing box office run, the two films that comprise “Grindhouse” were released separately on home video in extended editions with only the trailer for “Machete” making it to those releases.

THE WALKING DEAD
The AMC official blog asks production designer Greg Melton a few questions. Asked about working from a comic book, he responded, “It’s like having a storyboard of the whole production. Usually I get a storyboard of an effects sequence or an action sequence. But it’s very interesting to have something from beginning to end. There are a lot of iconic images in that graphic novel that we have taken into the series. People will go, ‘Oh yeah that’s the downtown Atlanta shot.’ For instance the police station in the graphic novel: One day I was driving around and saw right behind our production office this little brick building that looked exactly like the police station. So there are a lot of points like that, and then the hospital is something we really took to a whole new level as far as the devastation and really showing for the first time the scale of the apocalypse in Rick’s town.”
