Throwback Thursday -- or #TBT -- is usually reserved for childhood photos, high school memories or ironic remembrances of what you did literally last week. When you're an actor in a superhero franchise, though, your #TBTs can get pretty epic. That's definitely the case with Gal Gadot, the actor now playing Wonder Woman in DC's major feature film franchise. Gadot's latest #TBT isn't just any old photo -- it's a pic of her in her full Wonder Woman suit waging war against a major supervillain. Well, sorta.

The image is a behind-the-scenes shot of the production of this year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," which features a fully-armored Wonder Woman going up against what would eventually become Doomsday. Seeing as how the Kryptonian bad guy was constructed by computer graphics, that meant the heroes had to have something physical to punch and swing swords at on set -- and that's why there's a person in a less than intimidating motion capture suit where Doomsday should be. That also explains why Gadot's eyeline is looking straight up, right where the hulking monstrosity of a foe would be added in later.

Gadot debuted as Wonder Woman in "Batman v Superman" and will reprise her role as the Amazon warrior in her solo film next year. Written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns from a story by Heinberg and Zack Snyder, “Wonder Woman” also stars Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Saïd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner, Lisa Loven Kongsli and David Thewlis. The film opens June 2, 2017.
